I'd love to see what it looks like during the day.

If I have failed to make this car more visible to you then you should not be driving on the road ..

Well to answer your question, No...not being seen has never been a problem.
    Thoughts? Uh...

I suppose I'd ask what your motivation for doing this is?
    Real concern for safety?
Real desire to be more visible at night?
    Aesthetic change?

It's not something I would do, but if increasing the visibility of your Prius at night was your goal? Seems you reached it.

To Be Seen And To Be Different....The prius is just a commuter car . This car to me has really NO appeal what so ever except for the gas mileage .. So I add anything and everything just to be different.

    Tron?

Seriously though, as stupid as some safety laws have gotten, they will probably make them all that way eventually...starting in California.

Is it electroluminescent, or just highly reflective???

I thought Tron when I saw it too.

When I bought my Prius, I thought it was the ugliest car on the road. It grows on you, just wait a year or two. The clean and simple lines are well done, just different.

Not done working on it yet, just a little here and there when not commuting
grabbed a quick picture at the pump today
Apparently the prius likes it ...filled up and recorded 55mpg which is my best mileage yet
more to come havent finished the other side at all and still working on the 1st 150ft roll of reflective tape....I have another one coming so when I am done 300ft of reflective material
Working on importing EL tape for my motorcycle (polaris slingshot)....not the wire I want the tape and about 20-30 meters of it
Think this was 12 bucks a roll on ebay ....It is 3m but I am just playing with an idea before I get the EL tape and do the other vehicle
Total money for this project .....under 30 bucks ....not bad for a very visual mod

Looks pretty cool, but a little redundant on the lower doors/rocker panel area IMHO.

Kind of looks like you're working on a low budget version of the movie "Tron".

How/where are you doing the power connections? Are you splicing the tape?

OP stated it's reflective tape, not EL. The EL tape mentioned was for a motorcycle.

OK I see said the blind man...that's a little easier...I got some reflective tape from Walmart...

That tape looks pretty good, I am interested in that too for some of my reflective projects
