Next gen Prius v (wagon) is better to offer with E-Four, due to higher up the ground.

Another detail that bothers me....IIRC, the spec show the Gen4 to be a couple of inches longer overall, but no increase in wheelbase. So it takes a slightly larger parking space, and it even has less rear seat legroom....not good. The Gen 2 had an almost limolike back seat.
Although the new one does have a bit more front seat legroom....

It's not complicated. The gen4 Prius has a ton of driver legroom, even more than gen3 while the gen2 Prius had PATHETIC driver legroom. Pretty silly to brag about 'limo-like backseat legroom' while tall driver is shoved into the dash with seat fully back.
Of course it's going to show up as 'less rear seat legroom' when slide driver's seat fully back in gen4. Just slide the damn thing forward a bit and all is ok. You'd need 36 pants to slide gen4 seat all way back and reach pedals.
anyrate, whatever, not impressed with Toyota interiors.

Second gen became THE predominant taxi in Vancouver. I've been wondering idly how that industry is gonna react to this new vehicle. I expect they'll take it in stride, but would be interesting to get their perspective, a few months down the road.

Part of that could've been the timing of the new regulations requiring all new (or rather replacement) taxis be hybrids or other fuel efficient vehicle and also TCI dropped the price in 2008 from $31,290 for a 2007 model to $29,500 and then mid way through 2008 down to $27,400.

There are PiPs in the taxi fleets now.

The v is a favourite for taxi companies. It's spacious for both passengers and cargo. The few times I'm lucky enough to grab one of those, I just recline the back seat and chill for the entire ride. I suspect with taxi use, it might not be that much more fuel efficient than a Camry Hybrid. I'll be curious to see what TNGA will do for the 2G Prius v.

I guess what I was really hoping for, was for Toyota to further expand the Prius "full line" to include a minivan... that would be awesome to have something like the Sienna with HSD....the 'V' isn't significantly much roomier than the hatchback....

Maybe they are waiting to see the sales results on the up coming RAV4 Hybrid first.

:D, a dealbreaker for some of us, I don't get the white console, white dash with blue rings around the vents, the airbag cover apparently just rests loosely over the steering wheel.

Me either... The White dash (I know it's an option) is an odd choice for anyone who may be bugged by glare or otherwise highly reflective surfaces. I suppose if one drives their Gen 4 only at night the White Dash may make sense... not for this Gen 2 fellow.

There is no "White Dash" it's cool grey in some markets and Moonstone in others.

The body I could learn to like as I have come to like other cars that were radical at first, but the white interior things would be a hindrance as I am a mechanic and I do change clothes and clean up before driving home, but there is always a residue that seems to build up on any car I've had ,the white would just make it more noticeable. Maybe Toyota will re-think the white later,,.
