    Hello all

My Prius 2010 outer temperature displays dashes, like this --
Is the problem with the sensor? and has anyone had such a problem?

    Thank you

Easy to visually check the sensor. It's attached to the vertical bar under the hood latch behind the lower grill. Check the cable and connector.

Thank you for your quick reply and explanation. I will and hopefully it works.

One last thing please, Can I reach the sensor or do I have to remove the front bumper?

If you have skinny hands/arms, maybe. But front grill removal is probably the norm. Log into the US Toyota site and pay the small fee to allow you to download the service manual. It should list the required procedure in its many pages.

There is a plastic cover over the top of the radiator. Just remove this cover and you can see and get to the sensor.

Well, it's still very tight. I installed aluminum mesh behind the upper and lower grill. I did remove the plastic cover. I could not get my arms down more than about 15 cm. I'm a pretty big guy, with strong forearms, so that probably had a big effect. But give it a try. No cost to try. I found it very difficult to access from below, so from above is the way.

I'm a skinny mini, so I will give it a try for sure.
I appreciate your help. Thank you again
