What does that have to do with appealing to a new audience?

Toyota wants to grow the market by reaching out to new consumers.

The goal is to draw interest beyond that of current owners... hence showing Prius doing things outside of its current stereotype.

Uh, it is not for current Prius owners nor for future owners. It is for Toyota managers who want sporty Toyota cars. Regardless, it s*cks less than past Prius commercials that were embarrassing.

I said others would not agree, and I am ok with that.
I think the add portrays a false expectation: "Awaken the senses;" "Push the boundaries;" "Feel the difference;" and how do you define "Beyond possible?" Does that imply, well, it wasn't possible to "feel the difference?"

BTW, I liked the graphic portrayal of assembly, measurements, and precision.

I undertand, and can easily say that I agree with your point. I am only saying it is deceptive advertising. Like the Subway adds that show a sandwich just loaded with meat, when the reality is something completely different. I'll let it drop after one final comment.

For going on 4 generations, the Prius has been an outstanding, technological advanced, 5 door fuel efficient vehicle that incorporates safety, creature comfort, reliability, good handling and breaking, with an outstanding reputation and resale value, all at a reasonable original purchase cost. None of us were originally hybrid owners, and it is those features that won us over, and now I would not even consider a non hybrid vehicle, as demonstrated by my most recent, post-Prius purchase (a Avalon hybrid).

We have literally seen thousands of commercials like that over the years. It's how cars and trucks have been advertised. Seeing that is the expectation. Whether or not you ever do that with your vehicle is an entirely different matter.

Thank you bisco and john. I agree.

Changing to tenor of my comment, look at the add and see if you think, as I do, that the car depicted in an AWD? The rear wheels is spinning, not just turning IMHO.

bisco - I could not figure out why your name kept coming out "disco." When I typed this, I carefully typed "bisco" and the computer changed it. Sorry.

I'd like a comment from anyone regarding my observation that in the add, several post back, that it appeared to me to be an AWD. What do y'all think?

Perhaps the computer knows something else:

Hummm, so he is actually John Travolta?

ps. I probably owe him a bottle of screen cleaner and keyboard dip.

what does, 'putting the car in power mode, and opting to select gears' mean?(n)
