Great, it is way more expensive than the current gen3 (26.850€) - at least taking the net price of the base model without VAT (24.297€), and adding the 19% German VAT (28.914€). A good 2000€ more expensive. That's almost +7,5%...
I think I can keep mine if the prices are going to be really the same as calculated, in Germany.

it is not really hard to go to toyota.nl quickly and take whole 2s to identify current prices of €30k which is the same as new price... so pricing is the same as before despite more equipment standard.

edit: current price in NL is €500 cheaper... G4 gets standard TSS+. Heck a lot of things are standard.

Il that is the case, then maybe they will adjust the price for Germany.
I know that due to state tax incentives the Prius sells/sold really well in the Netherlands.
In Germany, there are no special benefits and it didn't sell much at all. At least from what I can see in the roads of Munich where I live. Buying a Japanese car, let alone a misunderstood hybrid that against all laws of physics consumes less than a diesel, in Munich is something to be ashamed of and almost laughed at... I still get jokes after 6 years every now and then from colleagues, some of which driving none other than EA189 motorized VW diesels........ ;)

Ps: yes I noticed that a lot of things are now standard, especially safety features, at least in the NL offering. Interesting to notice that IPA is not...
Ps2: the official EU ratings are also out as printed out on the PDF. They are the same across trims and they are valid EU wide. In city the new gen4 needs a 1 full Liter less per 100km. That is 8km more per liter of gas....!

I think it will end up very similar or same pricing.

As to new stuff, base model has everything needed, but I would be looking either at 2nd level or top level, depending on how cloth in 2nd level looks like.

Base now has bi-leds, smart entry, radar cruise control and auto-brake. Thats pretty cool.

New IPA with auto-brake is cool, i would get top version for that, leather and JBL. But keep in mind that people dont use IPA, it is not really useful in real life for me since I can park better than it however it is great talking point.

When it comes to Munich, same here in Croatia. They think hybrids are some weird technology and why do you want that when there is TDI? But Prius has a lot of good talking points - from spaceship/weird exterior that will be noticed, to new safety stuff with auto-brake, radar cruise control, auto dimming headlights, new IPA, bi-leds, all the color screens, etc, etc... thats all extra options in average German vehicle so not many have those.

The US has different specs, but glad to see those items available on all trims over there!

Star Safety SystemTM — (Standard on ALL trims in the US)
    Enhanced Vehicle Stability Control (VSC),
Traction Control (TRAC), Anti-lock Brake System
    (ABS), Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD),
Brake Assist (BA) and Smart Stop Technology
    (SST)

Toyota Safety Sense (TSS) (Standard on 3T & 4T and Available on 3 and 4 with the ATP)
Pre-Collision System w/ Pedestrian Detection, Lane Departure
Alert w/ Lane Keep Assist, Auto High Beams and
    Full-Speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control.

Packaging is different in your country, but "Radar Cruise" aka Dynamic Radar Cruise is not even available, let alone standard, on the lower trims, in the US.

oh we get more for sure as base... but keep in mind that base model costs between $2k and $4k more in Europe, depending on country... I think they dont want it to clash with Auris Hybrid so they priced out base model with more equipment but also reasonable price for that equipment. If they had €22k base model in Europe, they probably would have to price loaded models more to make up for base model low pricing.

Not a word about pricing, there is basic info on our local Toyota site and that is it.

As usual, Toyota Adria will announce prices week after car goes on sale, nothing new, happens with each single Toyota vehicle.
