I have seen them on craigs list for around $500 and my thoughts are
    1) if it worked Toyota would offer it for sale at double the price
    2) if its on CL its a scam

and for 50 bucks I can replace bad mod's in the pack myself

    Hi Eric,

Thanks for taking the time to ask. Our biggest challenge often is just getting people to know we exist. We have sold over 1,650 of these systems and they work very well. You can read some comments from our customers on our Facebook page, here:

    Hybrid Automotive LLC

Here is a recent comment from a Prius owner who used our systems on his Gen2 Prius: "Thought I would let you know, I reconditioned the battery . . . it worked great, I have more power on take off and the battery indicator now only goes down to the half way mark, and charges back to full, very quickly. It now shows a full charge at times, where it would commonly be half to almost discharged (most of the time) during driving, it doesn't go below half now. My mileage went from 40 to 45 mpg to 49 to 54 mpg (and in cold weather I usually seen 37 to 39 mpg). It averages around 52 mpg and it is cold here in Tennessee, I NEVER seen that kind of mileage in cold weather, EVER. your product is great! And a great investment. This is an 8 yr old battery with no indications of being bad. Thanks again -John R"

To be fair, there are several ways to recondition a battery, our products are not for everyone. Some people like to pull the battery out of the car, tear it down to the module level, and cycle each module several times over several weeks. That's great, and can be one way to go about it. We designed our products for people who prefer a simpler approach, desiring to get the same results in three days with good chance not having to remove the battery from the car at all. People who value the ease of use and ability to maintain the battery after the initial reconditioning to prevent it from returning to a degraded state.

Something else of note: we just reduced reduced the cost of our Prolong Battery Charger system by at least $100 each. We have been working hard behind the scenes to reduce our material & labor costs and are happy to pass these savings along to our customers. Interested parties can see the updated pricing on our website now :)

    Thanks Steve and Jeff,

The good news is that my battery is operating just fine currently, but I'm quite happy to know that there's a remedial solution out there if the need arises!

    Best,
    Eric

Sure, happy to help. We just reduced our prices by $100 per system, so unfortunately we don't have any additional promotions running at the moment. To properly recondition the battery you need a Discharge Ready Charger System. For easy ordering, we bundle the Discharge Ready Charger System with our Simple Discharger in the Prolong Battery Reconditioning Package.

For cars over five years of age or that are showing signs of battery aging, we recommend going with a Car Harness that is Discharge Ready. The Standard systems (what we sell on eBay) are for newer batteries that have lower years/miles on them. If you car is still getting the same mileage as when it was new, then the Standard system is a good option. If you are seeing decreased mileage, then it is time to start giving the battery a preventative reconditioning treatment once or twice per year.

eBay prices are more than our website due to the 8.5% seller fees they charge us. Check our website for best pricing. We also offer a car harness conversion kit for $20 if you want to go with the Standard system now and need to change to the Discharge Ready style later.
