Regarding the transaxle drain and fill, I would give good odds that it's very similar to gen 3. If you can jack up the front end, you should be able to spot the drain and fill bolts, if it's similar: they'll be in the vicinity of the passenger side drive shaft, where it enters the transaxle.

The view may be obscured by the engine underpanel, some removal then will be needed. But if it's similar to gen 3 there's a bit of opening right there, sufficient to see and/or reach through. Still, for a change, it's best to remove that panel, that's the route I've gone, a couple of times now.

In this pic of the third gen, you're on passenger side, looking towards drivers side. I've coloured the drive shaft yellow. The two arrows are pointing at the drain and fill bolts:

If you ask the service department regarding transaxle fluid change, you may get a candid and down-to-earth response, but more likely you'll be told the fluid never needs changing, and process is very complicated/expensive. Neither is true: it's a simple drain and fill.

I'll attach 3rd gen Transaxle Fluid Change instruction, from Repair Manual.

The distinction I'm making is that Nissan wouldn't have bothered with making any two motor design if they hadn't been forced to offer some type of hybrid at that time for CARB. The Altima hybrid with THS was purely a compliance car.

And Apple is willing to take advantage of the patent system by patenting a swiping motion, which would simply be thrown out by other countries' patent offices, and suing over it.

I was never too keen on side moldings either but these I don't mind. When the dealer sent the quote these were already on along with the window tint and the clear plastic door guards (all dealer added) and he didn't charge for any of it, or so he says.

Northern Arizona, best place to live, short cold-ish winters and mild summers with some of the best monsoon storms in the country. Today is in the 50s and absolutely perfect for doing anything you could want to do outside except maybe swimming. We're going to wash and detail the 05 so it can be listed. It's been a great car and hopefully the 16 will be just as reliable.

Excellent, I'll take a look and report back. I don't plan on waiting as long as some would to change out the fluid, maybe 50K. I did the 05 at 70K and it definitely looked like it should have been done sooner.

Yep, the drain and fill is similar to the gen III. Here's a pic of the fill plug viewed from the passenger side. Drain plug must be close by but probably not visible without taking off the splash guard.

Maybe, I'm not sure, not seeing familiar landmarks.

The passenger side drive shaft, specifically the inner CV joint should be prominent in the pic, if it's sim to 3rd gen. The boot in your pic is for steering tie rod, I think.

    Thanks for spelunking btw!

Similar to the III because it's on the side of the trans facing the right side tire unlike the Gen II facing the radiator. I'm just glad it can be serviced.

Yeah I suspect it's similar. If we darken a dealership's doorstop to check them out I'll be crawling under there, lol.

Guess that wouldn't work, too tight without some lift.
