I'm thinking about a Gen 4 with a lot of the new safety equipment (blind spot monitoring, adaptive cruise, etc.). Anyone in the Gulf States region (which often differs from other Toyota sales regions--or at least used to) had experience ordering/buying a Gen 4 at any of the levels? Anyone know about the discounts on offer? Any other useful information?
    Thanks!

I'm looking for the very same car in red with the same equipment. I'll be looking for price information also.
I'm way down in Naples Florida. So far been quoted MSRP with NO dealer fees.

Thanks, tigerpilot. You will probably have better luck than I do because Florida is not in the Gulf States Region, even though it is actually a Gulf State. At least, you should get good deals sooner.
The GSR, and I think one other Toyota marketing group, has a special deal with Toyota, which I think gives it more pricing power. At least this was true at the beginning of the Gen III period. I don't remember why it was true.
Anyway, I'm going to bet that you will get below MSRP deals before we do, and that the experience other PC members have around the country will be more relevant to you than to me, on average.
    Have fun.

Earl Stewart Toyota in West Palm. NO dealer fees of any kind!
FYI.......BSM is standard on the model four.
The rest of the safety stuff and other things are in the advance technical package ($1900??)

The other non-Toyota distributor is Southeast Toyota Distributors, LLC (SET) a subsidiary of JM Family Enterprises, Inc., serving 176 independent Toyota dealers in the five-state region of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and North and South Carolina.

From prior comments on priuschat, I have the impression they can be somewhat annoying in their business practices.

Annoying and expensive. I've gone to Md before to buy a car just to save all the extras SET tacks on as mandatory items. On my second Toyota, I bought locally but used the fact that the dealer's manager knew I could and would go out of region to bargain down the price until it wasn't worth the train ride I had taken to pick up the first car.

When you add Toyota's don't advertise below MSRP policy, the SET add ons and the dealer processing fees, I see less and less attraction to buying a Toyota locally if at all. I have had no trouble with warranty and maintenance for either of my cars locally even though they were bought outside the region.

I drove my 2002 Prius from Austin Tx to Ca and Dianne just because of GST options. Sort of wish I could do the same thing this time on the 2014 to 2016 (with trade in) but Tn to Ca and back is a very very long ride. Sometimes the options and colors you can get elsewhere are not available in GST, and then there all the PORT addons they do. but, YMMV

I just got done yesterday negotiating for a Prius 4 with ATP and PCP. MSRP is $33,864 and I got them down to $29,000. Almost $5000 off MSRP, couldn't get them to come another $136 off of the price. LOL. I think this is pretty great deal! It was from Toyota of Ft Walton Beach. Some of their fees where pretty high and they said they couldn't adjust them so I just negotiated the price of the car down. I am excited to have my first Prius!
