Hands free no sound

    Hello guys, greetings from Lithuania.

    I just bought a 2005 Prius II and there are some problems I am facing. Searched google for answers, but found nothing.

    When I connect my phone Sony xperia to hands free via bluetooth everything works. I can dial numbers and it's working fine on calling, BUT WHEN SOMEONE ANSWERS I CANT HEAR THEM AND THEY CANT HEAR ME. I mean audio is working fine music plays no problem. I believe it could be software problem or something. Maybe have to update?

    By the way I see lots of youtube videos of same Prius but they have different software design (different buttons, different shape etc.) Does that mean, that I should update my software or something? How I can do that? Is it the same update that comes with NAVIGATION update?

    And last question: there are some buttons that don't work on my steering wheel: right side (defrost, window heating, inside air, info and speaker). What could be the problem?

    No, that is just a different version of the software that come with a different model Head Unit. I don’t believe that it is possible to update the software on your system.
    Most likely it is the “clock spring” ribbon cable inside the steering wheel. You will need to replace it, but be weary of cheap imitation (knock-off) copies available on online auction sites. Try and purchase the genuine Toyota part as you do not want to be re-doing this repair twice in short succession when the cheap knock-off fails.
    It is most likely an incompatibility of the implementation of the bluetooth standard between the two devices. I've seen a lot of people report these sorts of incompatibility, but no-one posting any solution.
