Ouch I had forgotten this speculation that PiP will be a 4 seater.... Based on these new renderings I was already considering that would be my future car but if this is true it will not accomodate my wife and 3 kids

...the renderings look like rear bucket seats, but the Hybrid looks that way too in the renderings

PeterKG, can you confirm rumors in this japanese article that there will be solar panels which will be able to help charging the HV battery ?

They are visible on these PS images.

Still don't get it. To me ALL these renderings look exactly alike and very similar to the Gen 4. Only differences I see is to rear and front. Side profile same bulging fat bottom of Gen3 and a pointy sharp front. Those who have seen it seem to suggest they are very different but how can that be?

The late proto I viewed in February was a hard top with no solar panels. That's not to say they might not have a solar panel equipped package at launch or later.

    Merged

You pretty much summed it up.

Ah ha, so they are including *that*! Very nice. Can't wait.

Well isn't that supposed to be the case? The 1G PiP was based on the 3G Prius, so why is it a surprise that the 2G PiP looks like the 4G? It's not going to be a whole new design. It'll just have styling elements to differentiate it better from the regular Prius. The renderings seem to suggest that it's full bumpers and lights on the outside.
