Hey, been awhile. About a year ago I got the sequence for entering srs diag mode to find out why my srs light is on, but I cant for the life of me remember the chicken dance to do it again. It included opening the door turning the lights on and off but cant find anything on it here. Some help would be appreciated. Thanks

"Chicken dance," is to add a new fob or used fob to a non-SKS Prius, OR adding a new SKS fob to a SKS Prius.

Airbag light on requires a capable OBD2 reader. Get mini VCI (Amazon $25-$30, ideally Window based laptop 32bit OS) or goto the dealer to get the trouble codes read ($100+ cost, price shop the dealers in yor area).

I know that is not true, I entered the diag mode once before and it told me the condition on all sensors in the system right on the cars screen. I learned the passengers seat weight sensor was bad.

Really? So the MFD Diagnostic gave you B1780?

Relying on the MFD (Multi Funcion Display) for all the codes on "all sensors," is misplaced. It does not provide ALL codes for ALL ECUs and the sub ECUs. Others will agree with this fact.

Getting mini VCI w/ Techstream software 8.0+ (Amazon/eBay $25-$30) to retrieve ALL codes, for ALL ECUs and sub ECUs, is in your best interest, or pay the dealership or an independent shop that uses Techstream software.. An old laptop with Windows 32bit OS is ideal for installation of the Techstream software. Many threads available w/ install help for non Windows 32bit and Mac. The benefit of getting mini VCI w/ Techstream is now you will be able to pull codes for Toyota/Lexus/Scion. The latest Techstream version would be required for the latest model Toyota car.

Get a 2 day temporary subscription to Toyota's TIS (Technical Information System), $15. You will have access to the factory manuals. Chilton/Haynes is junk when you see the wealth of information. Toyota - New Subscription The file format is CHM, and no longer PDF. Maybe you might be able to preserve the CHM file. Others have converted the CHM to PDFs, just perform an Internet search to do this.

Jump pins 4&13, on the OBD-2 connector, to retrieve the blink codes for the SRS Warning Light. Threads about this exist. Jumping is cumbersome, when a great tool exists.
