Yeah. That's elite auto. Known scammers. Check the thread I linked. Eric surveyed the modules and concluded without a doubt that they did not supply a battery from a 2009.

    Run like hell.

Yikes Thanks for the heads up. It did seem a little too good to be true. I'll keep looking and won't answer when they call!

How do you tell what year the battery is from?

Isn't there anything the BBB can do or somebody because they are deceiving customers?

BBB is a non-profit organization. They are not an enforcement agency of any kind.

Rather than rely on the "protections" of a nanny state, let's protect ourselves. Knowledge is power. It's all right here on PC.

If you read the thread, you can see they are famous for scamming in other markets. They just change fishin' holes when the pond dries up.

I don't remember if it was suggested, but search car-part.com. You might find a part in a salvage yard that they'll warranty for about the same price. At least you'll have something from a local business. Additionally, what they're selling likely isn't any worse than what elite auto would drop in your car.

    S Keith,
Great job saving Ambrosia5 from Elite Auto and their hybrid battery scam.

    Ambrosia5,
You paid a small price for the car. I think you should really consider working with Boulder Hybrids. Paul and his team are respected and honest hybrid mechanics. Paul contributes his knowledge regularly to this forum.
Seriously. He will do a great job an a reasonable price.

I will consider it. Right now my biggest challenge is getting it up there because it doesn't run. It's just parked at pueblo Toyota for estimates on body damage from my bad encounter with roadside assistance:(

Wow been a while since I've been here. But I have an update. So I started dealing with my problems by replacing the 12 V battery. The result was this:

    Car wouldn't start
I replaced the 120 amp fuse on the 12 V fuse link.
Starts up. All warning lights disappeared except the VSC.

I shut off the car and went out about 30 min later to start and see the results. Delayed engine turnover. Warning lights came back on. Battery was charging in park. Get halfway then engine shuts off and restarts. It has cycled like that 7 times. Then I turned it off. Engine started fine and hybrid battery on MFD was green. What the heck? And now no interior lights turn, windows, and locks don't work. What should I try next?

My next step is getting the hybrid battery and having it shipped. But I want to know if it could just be bad connections throughout.

    Could check the integration relays.
    Or the ignition module.
Does the clock go out as well? Or dash lights?

The clock is out. I'm reading my manual but the integration relay are confusing the heck out of me.

When I disconnected the 12v and reconnected it seemed fine then it happened again.

I have a similar issue with a customer that is coming in on Monday.
Will be trying integrated relay first.
I'll let you know how it goes.
