Yesterday while driving my 2010 V, I noticed that when I let off the gas, it felt as if I had it in "brake" mode and it would slow down. I was in regular driving mode, not in brake, or power setting and the e
emergency brake pedal had been released. I was not in "cruise" either. I noticed the instrument that indicates where the power-drive (?) is coming from looked to be only between the electric motor and the battery. The car has 72,000 miles and has been regularly serviced. I have had it since was new. How serious might this be? It is drivable but I parked it anyway. May have taken to dealer this morning on a flatbed. Any thoughts?

Normal operation is to regenerative brake when you let off the gas, with MG2 current flowing to the HV Battery. This simulates engine drag on ICE only cars. This is what you saw on the instrument panel.

Since you have had it since new, if it is more braking than normal it could be a brake caliper sticking issue. The next time you drive it feel each of the wheels around the brake pads and see if one is hot.

There should be no problem driving the car so you should be able to drive to dealership.

The above is a good test.

Also if you are in a safe area and going relatively slowly (under 42 but better less than that) just put the car in N and see if you have the drag. If you do then it IS coming from the break (of course do not use the break). This is totally safe shifting is "electronic".
