Hi guys. Firstly, I would like to say thank you for a lot of you, because I found here a lot usefull informations and tips for fuel economy. I just bought prius gen3, year 2011 with 49k miles. I go to local toyota dealer and did service + bought extended warranty for batteries. Car was in all right condition, only 1 recommended exchange, there was something with rear breake, which cost me like up to 200eur for new one, which is all right for used car. I learned driving techniques during my first full tank, which give me only 56mpg /4.2l/100km/ but I learned glide and pulse technique only during my half tank already spent. I knew I can do much better with prius. Right now I am on second full tank, did already 150km /93 miles/ and computer say mpg is 69mpg /3.4l/100km/ ...but I did already few mistakes /I let battery completely go down to 2pips and engine starts, which I notice had very heavy consumption of my petrol.... so mistake learned. Hoping to go over 700miles with this tank... I am quite upset, that my prius comes with only 17" wheels and in paper from car, there are written only and only 17" can be used. Otherwise if police stop me, there can be some penalty, or if there is accident, insurance will pay nothing if I go with 15" wheels /which I will love to do, because of better MPG/ Any advice maybe, how to change it officialy? Even toyota dealer told me, if its in papers only 17", I can not do much with it. But that is only 1 discutable weak point I found. Currently car is on 17" 215/45/R17 probably original wheels, which will need to be changed next year told by delaer. As I said, I would love to buy tires, wheels with best MPG in mind, but it not possible, I will have to buy another 17 LRR tyres... Overall, I fall in love with this car, that silence and relax during drive is great. I love bringing my MPG as high as possible, but only without pi..ing other cars, if there is someone behind me, I drive like other cars. Last thing, I would like mention is .... that when I was buying it, I checked also plug in version, which will suit my needs greatly and I can even charge it daily for free at my house /have solar pover plant on house/. But price difference between normal and PIP was like 6k EUR.... but after 1 month, I see now in Germany I can buy PIP for about 14500 EUR... which makes it different only 2.5k EUR... and now I am a little upset, I did not find such a great deal for PIP sooner ;( .. Those 110 MPG for PIPs are great and I know, I could do even better in my conditions ;( So ... buying prius makes me want highly PIP. But I already did all paperworks with current prius I bought and will need to by satisfy, with what I have. Just this prius cars.... makes you think about MPG even more and u will think about PIP :) .... I will upload pcs, once I finish my tank with over 700 miles with it, it will take like 3 weeks, I deplete full tank.
