    Hey Guys,

Just bought a Prius 2014 Two and am getting frustrated when I put the car in park get out and go to open another door and its locked. In the manual I know it says press the power button put it in neutral, press the unlock button for five seconds and release. BUT nothing happens. Anyone done this successfully?

Here are literally all the steps I have been trying:
    All doors closed
    Foot on brake
    Press power button
    Shift to N
Press and hold Unlock for 5 secs
    Release button
Get more frustrated it didn't work

    Thanks!

Umm, what is it you're trying to do, and what manual did you find those steps in?

Try it again with these modifications:
Do NOT press the brake pedal.
    Press power button twice.

I'm looking at the directions for the 2010 and assuming that they're the same for you, but you should RTFM if that's not where you got the directions for your model, as a large number of things changed between the 2010 and 2014 model years - especially for changing settings, many of them are now found on the display of the car.

Anyway, my manual says to put it in ON mode - this is distinct from READY (i.e. foot-on-brake, press Power); ON means that all the computers and the vent fan and all that other junk is on, but it's running off the 12V battery and the traction battery is still disconnected. ON is the thing you get when you press the power button in Accessory mode. Press the power button a third time and it goes to Off.

Ah, I see it now, pages 91 and 92 in the 2014 owner manual. From the description there, it looks like if you're putting it in neutral and holding unlock, you're changing the "driver's door linked door unlocking function." Is that what you want? If you wanted the "shift position linked unlocking function" for when you shift into Park, that would be holding the unlock button while in Park. As macman408 suggested, it looks like ON is the right power state, not READY.

Also on p. 599 it says all of those can also be changed on screen if you have either Display Audio or Nav ... except for the driver's door linked unlock, which can be set in the nav but not in display audio.

I've tried following the instructions in the manual to cancel the shift-position-linked automatic locking and locking. It doesn't work for me.

If I understand you correctly. You want all doors to unlock when you turn off the car. That means the procedure you followed is incorrect. You want to be in P to enable "Shift position linked door unlocking function."
