this website has gone ballistic. posting is ridiculous. no post, duplicates, even 'likes' are a problem. and editing is now a potential problem.

So why am I seeing more frequent "unexpected database errors". Is this some known bug in the forum software?

I'm getting all kinds of "data base error" messages whenever trying to do anything lately, but re-trying the operation seems to eventually work. The hosting platform must be near the limits of its capacity (disk space allocation, database connections, who knows?)

Can the sysop look at the use stats for the hosting account??? Upgrade the hosting plan to something more robust...

Look, I understand Danny has had family stuff, but seriously....

I have not been here for several days because of problems on the site. Tried to post this morning (June 7, Tuesday).

Look I love the site, but I am going to be a very, very infrequent visitor until things get back to normal. Now, I hope it does not take multiple failed attempts to post this....

And drop kick the bevy of ads at the bottom of the page? It wouldn't be so bad if they were at least topical, interesting. The main thing they do for me on a phone is make me growl while trying to get from the bottom of thread to the posting window.

I have no problems with FireFox on PriusChat. I'm using version 46.0.1. Yes, the database errors are a nuisance; but usually succeed on retry.

    Ballistic...forum is a projectile?
From post # 1 I'd gather this forum is ejecting from perhaps a**es.

Seriously, I have not noticed any critical errors on Priuschat in Northern Calif USA.

Now ridiculous posts...that's a "whole 'nuther thread". haha

Hoping this was an attempt at humor. But it does not come across that way. At least to me. I spent many frustrating minutes....wish I had accounted for them, to make this post. So, I am very, very irritable. I actually came to PriusChat to make an entirely different post on an entirely different board, but I am not going to waste my time -- and I do mean time.

I do not especially appreciate a post that attempts to say that a number of posters, who have been around here quite a long time and are well-respected, don't know what they are talking about. If Bisco and others say there are problems, then there are problems.

Hopefully, I am taking your post the wrong way.

Again, I am grumpy. I had a horrible time trying to get to and get posting on this site today. I am not anticipating going through the hassle again. I love the site. I love the people, but it is not worth the frustration. All good things come to an end, I guess. Hope this is not the end here.

Kris -- and the 90+ temperatures in Oregon are NOT improving my mood.

Post # 11...yes an attempt of humor.
Guess I won't be writing for any late night comedy shows.

Ballistic refers to projectiles by definition, yet there are slang uses.

Again seriously, in my area of Nor Cal no issues with Prius Chat functions.

:pWeb site experience better today. Actually much better, but compared to yesterday, that is not saying much.

However, I am trying to be optimistic.

Is the fact that there has been no staff response to this thread mean that they cannot post either? :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

I am new to this forum, although I have had lots of experience with many other forums. Forums like this are typically held together by one or more kind-hearted souls who do the best that they can in their spare time, working around other business and family commitments. The hosting is probably free, so it comes with some 'cost' - usually in the form of advertising. So give the guy/s a break - they are doing their best to provide us all with a platform to yabber (mostly) about prii.

This morning I've gotten that red/black popup, saying something to the effect of bad connection, maybe a couple of times? And about 50% of postings hang the first time. Some the second time as well. Situation normal, well here, lol.

(No hang up right now of course. Just like when you take your car to dealership with a problem.)

Took four tries just now to post. Each attempt, it hangs for about 15 seconds.

(And of course here, greased lightning, lol.)

Such a popup is more likely to be from your network driver, IP stack, or ISP. I doubt PriusChat web site is aware of poor connections on your part. Web sites are generally stateless and have no way to determine that you're not getting what they are sending.

My guess? There aren't a whole more visitors to PC. It's that powered by Google block at the bottom of every post. That's gotta increase traffic for all viewers ten fold. Keep the first two ads because they actually are ads and pays the bills. But why are there 8 other thumbnails to other PC posts? At least they got rid of the up down navigation arrows at the bottom right of the screen. Right about here in the post is where I accidentally click it and have to start over again. So at least it's two steps forward one step back.
