Fuel filter

I wouldn't worry so much about this filter.

Modern gasoline and modern gas stations are "clean" with the rare occurrence of ingesting dirt/ crude from the filling station into your gas tank.

I have cut open multiple fuel filters with 75K mileage on them and they have been "clean as a whistle".

My tips to retain clean fuel...use top tier brands (do a search), keep vehicle fuel tank above 1/4 tank (well, not the typical Prius way of life), don't add fuel while the station is receiving fuel (or shortly thereafter) from a tanker.

PS What sucks is AMG Benz owner's fuel filters.
In tank, two of them, built into to fuel pump, about $400 each, plus labor.
Some on the maintenance schedule every 60K miles.

Again, I wouldn't worry so much about this Prius filter.

 

Oy vey, you've had the car one, two days, and you're researching fuel filter change? You're worse than me, lol.

As far as I know the Prius c filter is in the tank, and as such best left alone if no problems point to it. That said, the Australian maintenance schedule does include filter change, and it's a bear.
