Dealer has asked me for money, which means that my car has been unloaded from ship. The big day is getting closer.

With all the taxes that are added in this country, the final price is a tad over US$43,000. (The model sold here doesn't seem to match any of the standard configurations - comes with heated front seats, speed limiter, full-size spare, LED DRL, fog lamps, automatic headlamps, HUD, cloth upholstery (black), and anti-glare rear view mirror.)

The trim sounds like the one in Germany, apart the spare - we have a repair kit instead.

I think RIGEL LEADER has been dropping them off around the Med Sea after coming through Suez. Due in Bristol UK 1st July - hopefully mines on board :)

Yes I've stooped to stalking car carriers now LOL

I am still totally baffled by the warm-up sequence. It happens when you least expect it, and it doesn't happen when you would really think it would fire the ICE immediately. ???

I trust Toyota to have programmed the computers to do their work in an optimal manner, so don't really spend much time trying to guess what the car is up to. I treat it as something to get from place to place, that happens to be loaded (like most cars today) with loads of technology. I just sit back and enjoy the show.

A clue - though still untested - so just maybe.

1st trip I'd taken, car had been off 4 hrs, 13C outside, so I guess cold - Auto Climate control ON set to 21.5C, ICE started straight away, even reversing out of driveway and for about 1km.

2nd trip, next morning, had Climate Control OFF, about 12C outside, ICE didn't start till I'd driven ½km and accelerated briskly.

I'm suspecting she said "he wants to be warmed up to 21.5C, I'll need ICE to do that".

I live in the UK so our options are different to those in the US. The model I ordered is called 'Excel' which is the top-spec one, in black. It basically comes with everything including a kitchen sink.

Main features of UK models can be found here; New Toyota Prius price and specifications announced

I think, generally, that the UK has more standard features in the lower specs, but obviously a price that reflects that too.

    Great minds...

Mine would be ready on the 18th too so they're probably on the same boat. Sadly I'm out of the country until the 29th, hence choosing the 30th for pickup. Have you bothered with any of the dealer add-ons? (Paint/interior treatment, GAP insurance etc?)

I had the SupaGuard paint protection put on my current 3rd Gen Prius and to be honest it hasn't made a rats ar*e of a difference ... so for that reason I didn't go for it this time :) As for GAP insurance and all the other bits - didn't plump for them either - maybe I'm just too tight to shell out for extras

Did manage to get the fabric mats, a genuine Toyota boot (trunk) liner, and a couple of annual services thrown in for free - I like to drive a hard bargain :D

My Prius just arrived today, I'm in the UK. A few weeks ago, I was told that the base model, Active Edition was available in white or black and in stock, but if I wanted any other model, it would be September/October delivery. By chance, a customer cancelled their order, a Decuma Grey Business Edition with the 15 inch wheels. It also comes with the Nav. I would have preferred the 17 inch wheels, but the 15 inch wheels reduce emissions
to such a level that I get a 100% discount on the Congestion Charge in London which will save me £11.50 a day. Assuming I can get similar MPG to others on the forum, it would actually work out cheaper for me to drive into London (26 miles round trip), pay for parking all day, vs taking the train!

My first Prius, and I'm excited, as I've always driven cars that returned 15-20mpg in London :) I read every post on this forum, which helped me decide to get the Prius.

I've not gone for any of it either, although I'll probably get GAP insurance, just not direct from Toyota. I didn't do as well from my dealer as you, although I got a more than fair price for my Gen II trade in. I got the mats, boot liner an annual service and tank of petrol chucked in. Not much really but with the £1,000 deposit contribution and the obviously short supply of the vehicles in the country I didn't expect to get much discount.
