I'm asking if a 4th gen 17" wheel can go onto a 4th gen Two.

I'm still debating what to do. My Persona has 17" wheels, Softex and Navigarion where the Two is a downgrade. 15" wheels, no Nav and cloth. It's visually appealing on the outside I must say.

4th gen 17" rims are an acquired taste. Satin black, with silver plastic (Toyota calls 'em "resin") inserts. With the plastic removed, they look very "boy racer", spindly, with utilitarian lugs (for the plastic pieces) very apparent.

Sounds like you prefer the pictured wheels. That's what I have on my Persona. Are you planning on upgrading to the 4th gen?

What about the Two hubcaps with alloy wheels underneath. The more I look at the Two with 15" it almost looks off. As in the rims are too small for the design of the vehicle.

Our 2010 Canadian touring has rims per US 5 (aka V). We're low kms, not intending to upgrade. Don't want to get into it, but the 2026 exterior I can (just) tolerate, the interior, not so much.

Are you saying the '15 Persona is visually more appealing then the '16 Two?

To me yes. The 3rd gen has an organic look, reminds of a beluga. Fourth gen: angry Pokémon. Steeply angled beltline, lots of sharp corners, "edgy" everything.

This was thrashed to death months back, I should stay on my meds, lol.

Been watching this string ever since @4rpr15 started it.

FWIW, the only reason to upgrade or downgrade in your place would be if you want to spend money. I have looked at the 2016 Gen IV Prius. I have seen the Two, the Two Eco, the Three, and the Four. I have not seen any "touring" models. IMO, the only reason to get the new model is if your car is BROKE.

IMO, the author of this string would be very foolish to trade in a perfectly good working 2015 Personna on a 2016 Two Eco. It will be a down grade for sure and a very expensive move budget wise. I might think differently if the trade in was towards a Model Four Touring. In the end though it is @4rpr15 choice.

Totally agree. The more I drove my car I love it. The more I see the '16 Two I love it ....well except for the 15" rims. :)

I agree. Years back, I've gotten the "bug" like this, except it was with bikes...

I think Mendel hit the nail on it's head. It really is a new car bug thing and nothing else. It happens all the time, especially when the new models come out. Look at it like this. Remember I have LOOKED at four different 2016's, that should speak volumes.

In the end it is all up to the each individual to fulfill his/her wants and needs.

Trouble is, sooner or later you do have to trade up, but it's like you need a "regulator" mechanism, some sorta discipline, to avoid getting into this short cycle. Takes time.

Agreed, If I was 42 again, I would probably bite the bullet. But being 60 something and living on a shoestring things have to be handled a little differently. I only hope to pay for what I owe now, so I don't pass my debt onto someone else later in life. Things look differently once one has retired either by choice or by force (my case by force) than when one has a job and money...

Has anyone noticed their Softex seats fading over time?

Yep didn't go for the Eco. In the end there were far less Eco's on the lots around here and alot more Two's to choose from.

The Prius Two is more popular and in my opinion is a better vehicle. There is a reason there are far more of the Two's than the Two Eco's on the market.

The benefit of the Eco version is simply that it has a different battery (Lithium Ion as opposed to the Nickel-metal Hydride) and gets maybe 2-3 MPG better than the standard version. This small variation is not significant becasue your MPG will vary at this rate simply depending on your driving habits.

The reason I like the Two better than the Eco is because the Eco does not have a rear winshield wiper and has different wheel covers.

They are very similar vehicles otherwise.

You also get a spare, and not much gloss white interior trim I think?

    Oh hey, yeah: congratulations!

Obviously you just picked it up, but when you can and when you get some miles on it pls let us know how much better your mpg is compared to the Persona. I am very interested since we both owned the same car in the past and I am considering a Gen4 as well... Possibly a two or higher..

    Thanks and Congrats again!!
