That was my concern too: where did the missing piece go? I'm just going to think good thoughts, hope for the best: my daughter is very hard to flag in for pit stops, drove for months on a temp spare. I do what I can.

Sounds like the black flag needs to be a little bigger. But as someone who has a 5 and 3 year old, I will have my own challenges ahead

I did two of my old MB's a couple of weeks ago -- both V6's (12 plugs each). It's amazing how good they looked -- 2002's with about 110k on them. A few had some build up -- but the gap was spot on and clean. Scary!

I was reading a few years ago that the actual benefit is about 2% -- and that most see no change after the plug service. 100k is about thse point when the failure curve just starts to climb.

Here are my spark plugs. The black stain on the thread is from the anti seize.

I will cross my fingers and press my thumbs (Daumendruücken) for both of you that it passed out harmlessly. But driving months on a donut tire? Yikes! I really did not like the odd way our Prius handled when I had to perforce install the donut and drive to civilization in the upper Yukon, I really, really would not have wanted to do emergency evasive maneuvers with that thing on it.

The Pilot was 4WD version, and the spare was on a front corner. And she had a "check" in hand from us, for a new set.

    Unbelievable.
I am visualizing not only how badly the Pilot would handle with the donut in front, but also the wear and tear of two months of unequal-sized front tires on the 4WD system. Do not know Honda's system that well, but suspect unequal tires would be wearing some internal components.

In Israel it is part of the 90,000 km service. That is about 50,000 miles.

Wow. Surprised. That is quite different from the US 125,000 mile suggested change interval and makes me curious why such a different standard exists in Israel. I could see decreased intervals for air filter changes if you have a prevalence of dust in the atmosphere, and decreased oil change intervals due to high average temperatures and viscosity breakdown, but cannot see why spark plugs would wear out more quickly in Israel. Ideas?

Yes, I find it interesting too. Can't think of any reason that it should be different in Israel from any other part of the world. Yes, we have high temperatures and dusty air, but so do other parts of the world.

My guess is that the service schedule is determined by accountants rather than engineers.
