There could be some HSD safeguards in play from the extreme heat. Not just Toyota, but other hybrid systems will limit or shut down the electric motor when the heat rises to avoid battery damage....in my Honda, I'd get a check engine and IMA light (their red triangle) if the batteries reached 160F.

Darn. No dairy, huh? Ok, how about a cheeseburger? :ROFLMAO: All the California women I meet are no dairy/no meat... All thin vegetarian chicks. I'm gonna starve dating women like that! I need a nice plump woman, that wants to enjoy a T-Bone steak and a hot-fudge sundae with me!

Let's hope Toyota knows what they're doing with the L-ion batteries. I just need to get about 10 years out of my car. And the warranty is 10 yrs/150,000 miles(?), so I think I'm good. ;)

Judging by your smiley faces, I gather you're trying to be humorous, but personal attacks are not funny, no matter how you spin it.

Please do not engage in this sort of post, it's not how we do it on PC. Thanks.

And I also like fit thin chicks, and tall women, and short small ladies, and full-figured gals, and "vegan" women, and meat-eating chicks... Basically, ALL women in general. :D I'm a red-blooded American MAN.
    Got a problem with that?

No your research is wrong, the battery not rated anywhere near 280F. It's around 150F for nimh chemistry.

The Prius will reduce power from the HV as it overheats and the HV fan is only audible at its highest speed. You need a mini vci or bluetooth obd2 to watch the battery temps in real time as you drive. If it is running hot, then it could be a clogged fan/filter.

I can remember back in the 70s in Kentucky people would leave their hoods open so their engines wouldn't cook. You'd pull into a parking lot and everybody's hood would be open. Funny as hell. Maybe we're heading backwards.

My company uses server farms in New Zealand that save on AC costs.
