Why am I hungry for a 2" thick steak? Also we could use his skin for my interior.

A few more black patches and it would be a Gateway box interior.

Miss those Gateway commercials with the founder driving a truck with his pet cow.

Read again and you'll notice I didn't ever say she was good looking (IMO). o_O :D Circling back to the OP, she also doesn't drive a hybrid but I've always known her to be more of a KISS and anti-tech type personality.

Be careful! @whovian10 lost 10% mpg and I'm pretty sure in the other thread we determined it was due to Dunkin' Donuts.

Yes, all the above is allowed in Arizona. I don't feel the need to carry all the time but on some occasions I feel much more safe doing so. When hiking it's on my hip as there are mountain lions and lots of javelina in rural Az. I will conceal carry on occasion when we're down in certain areas of Phoenix or somewhere we've never been before until I know it's safe. When I lived in Socal I never went anywhere without a pistol in my car. Of course it was never loaded and always out of reach to comply with the law;);)

I'm not good looking either. What's her email address? :ROFLMAO:

And what exactly, do "vegans" eat? And do they do it because they are trying to make some kind of "statement?" Or are there actual health benefits? Are they against all animal products? Not being judgmental; Just trying to learn. I thought "vegan" meaner being a vegetarian... but apparently not? Do you buy vegan food in a regular grocery store?

I might be interested. A website I looked at, said something about a "proprietary blend of plant protein" is made to taste like hamburger, chicken, etc. How can you possibly make plants taste like beef? I hate to think what's in that stuff... (But then again, our poor cattle are injected with all kinds of hormones, antibiotics, etc.)
I'm not sure I would believe (or even understand!) all the ingredients that is listed on that Vegan meat label.

I even saw "vegan" donuts!

Interesting. And ok, you are familiar with SoCal. :) I'm afraid if we had a law like that here, crazy people would just start blasting each other! Has the crime gone down any in AZ?

I want to start a pool.... when a vegan responds to this question, how many words will there be before "alkaline" is inserted?

In 1981 I lived for 5 months on "Textured Vegetable Protein" (Soybeans) while walking from Mexico to Canada. At that time it only vaguely resembled meat and never tasted like it. Despite having it for dinner 155 days in a row, I have never eaten it since.

I do not eat mammals, but I also do not try to eat imitation mammals.

I'll go for that. I'm vegan. Vegan means no animal products. It's very simple. You'd be surprised at how many foods contain animal products.

Toyota tries to appeal to vegans with their softex upholstery. I'm not sure that it works so well. I do wear leather shoes and carry a leather purse with a leather wallet. Perhaps I'm a right wing vegan? ;)

My understanding is a vegan strives to consume zero animal products=meats, eggs, dairy, cheese, etc. Vegetarians strived to not eat meat. Pescatarians eat fish but not other animals and there are other variants. You can have a vegetarian diet and still eat incredibly unhealthy: donuts for breakfast, thick cheese pizza for lunch, big bowl of mac&cheese and french fries for dinner, ice cream or cake for dessert, etc.

Where's vegan food in a grocery store? Answer: it's called the produce section! LOL My local chains also place other products like vegan cheeses, meat substitutes (soy), tofu, etc there but there are also some meat subs. in the frozen section too. I use the frozen "meat" crumbles in chili and crunchy tacos and no one has discovered the switch yet including my super picky kids. I recently discovered that vegan ice cream made with cashew or coconut milk is damn good but some are still high in fat so you need to check the labels if your watching your weight.

There is tons of info out there (too much really) but one of the best all-inclusive sources I've come across that boils it all down through science and the best medical studies is this one: Proteinaholic

I couldn't correct my typing. No edit button.
It should read: "I thought vegan meant being a vegetarian."

Anyway, I'm all for buying fresh produce and fruits. :):) I've eaten a lot more healthy stuff since I became retired. And heck, I even bought a Prius! What got into me?!? :ROFLMAO: I'm afraid to ask... but does that make me a "liberal" now??? (Please, just kidding! No politics talk!)

We need a nice musical interlude about now.... Turn up your speakers! PEACE! :D
