I just wanted to make a few observations while I can remember them and share a few things I have done since snagging my Prius a few weeks ago.

The Prius is my 3rd or 4th car really and not a daily driver at all but of course I have been giving it as much drive time as I can while it is still new to me.
Overall I am really just blown away with the car, plain and simple!
I was worried it would be too underpowered to get out of its own way, ever but this is hardly the case for me so far?
I think this might just one of those things that are attributed to these cars that is just not correct. It is hardly a speed racer but can more than keep up with traffic both on the highway and around town for me.

The idiotic display actually does seem to train me to learn to drive the car to maximize efficiency too and I can not stand that!

The Seat is terrible in every way that matters and what is the idea behind the left foot dead pedal in a car like this?
Luckily it snapped right out and there is then enough room for my giant shoes to be.
I ordered the Extend My Seat brackets for the drivers side and they do make a huge improvement in the position and leg room for me so that is at least bearable now to sit there for a while ,before the brackets I was considering getting rid of the car as I could just not get comfortable in the seat at all.

I actually mod the seat in every car that I get to reach farther rearward and elevate a little too but when I saw these brackets I thought I would try a manufactured solution here and overall I am glad I did.
They seemed overpriced before ordering but they are much nicer than I imagined and heavier duty too so I highly endorse them to anyone if leg room is an issue.

I got the Husky Weatherbeater mat set too and I really like it a lot more than any set of Weathertech's that I have had!
They fit crazy tightly everywhere and now they do come with a nice set of fasteners to keep the drivers side in place too!
They also seem a lot more rugged than the Weathertech and have a lifetime warranty as well.
The car came with the Weathertech cargo liner in back so I can easily compare and contrast the 2 brands and this is the first set of Husky I have had but it will not be the last!
Now I just need some Weather to try them out.

I also added a Pro Clip on the right side of the wheel to hold my phone and it was a lot tougher to install than they suggest but neither the clip or phone are going anywhere now that I don't make them at all.Very tight and strong mount once in place. I also got one for the left side of the wheel but I am waiting to install that one until I have an actual need to.

The interior storage spots are pretty amazing for a car this size and it is a struggle so far to find things to fill them up.
I will be changing out the radio for a Nav. unit for sure and installing Ham radio crap too as well as pretty much anything interesting that I can find as there are just so many choice spots to put things.

I am driving pretty aggressively at times and am always around 50mpg anyway.
I noticed the odd rough stopping and starting when cold right away and through this site am learning a lot about how to listen to and drive the car for sure.
I already have a Scan Gauge and will likely stick it in the prius this weekend to be able to better understand what goes on with this beast.

So overall I really like this thing so far and while I was not exactly in the market for one I am glad that I found this one!
It did have 4k miles on it as purchased which is 233 miles per year and it drives like a new car should!

Thanks for all of the help and insight here in the forum!

Yep you read correctly, a 2005 with 4000 miles!
    It IS hard to believe.

Yeah! I thought my '06 with only 45k miles was super low.

    Me too!
I was not a believer at first when I found this one.
One of my clients is a Toyota Dealership and I asked them to run the VIN and then contact the dealer that had done work on the car if any and it turned out that an older couple had bought it new and it was a second car for them and they actually almost never drove it?
So in December of last year they took it to the dealer for service and had EVERYTHING replaced that was at all worn or deteriorated from 11 years sitting on the garage!
    Both Batteries!
All belts and hoses and fluids and pulley driven stuff, added up to just about 8 grand I was told.
Then they went and traded it for a new car and I was the first one to flash cash after a test drive.
So far it feels like I won a Lottery somewhat!
This dealer that took it on trade is in an area here that somehow sees a lot of this kind of deal and they had and always seem to have crazy low mileage cars sitting on the lot.

So anyway like I said I was not really looking for this one but it found me anyway!

There was someone else (in the last year?) posting about a somewhat similar, long term garaged Prius. Think it worked out ok.

How about the tires? Original or no? They should be swapped out if not.

I should talk, our OEM's are still on, dated February 09.

WOW, amazing. Mine was owned by a "little ol' lady" who drove about 4k miles per year. As per Toyota records, she had a lot of trouble with killing 12v batteries. I strongly suggest you get a battery tender for yours since as you say it won't be your daily driver.
