Dealer changed PCV valve for $55!

    I brought in the part and asked them to switch it. They didn't know what it was so they brought a mechanic up and he goes "This will be the first time Weve changed this on a Prius what's the book time?" Service writer said .5 hrs and he goes ok.

    Crazy this was the first ever change if it is normal for Prius chat to replace these.

    Last fall, my local Toyota Dealer changed the one on my 2009 Gen II for the cost of the part (~$11) when they changed the plugs (111k miles) - they said it needed to be done and as they were doing the plugs, it was simplest to the PCV at the same time.:eek:
