I understand and acknowledge the logic, but $80 is just so ridiculous to me. I just can't bring myself to do it. Admittedly, that's an emotional response, and your logic is sound.

I do have the center caps from my 2010, and although the tabs don't fit, I'm thinking of removing the tabs and using some silicone to adhere them to the rims. Yes, I'm being a cheapskate, er, thrifty.... :)

I think the is off topic Gemstar, but where did you get those wheels in your profile picture? Are they 15's or 17's. J

They are the stock 15" rims after the plastic wheel covers were removed and center caps installed (just to stay on topic). The plastic wheel covers popped off by hand with relatively little effort. It made me wonder if I might have lost one to a pot hole. The OEM center caps are also plastic but snap in snugly.

I thought of adhering them to the rims to but the problem is they need that hole when they go to balance the tire. It has to be able to fit on the balancing machine. Lol. We think alike!

So these are hiding under the plastic caps? Really?

No. The centers will be open and ugly if you pull off the full sized hub caps. The center caps are available for 15 to 20 bucks apeice,

Yeah, I get that from all the discussion. What I was asking was about the wheels themselves. Your recent post implied that the ones you show in your picture are the standard 15" wheels that were behind the plastic caps.

yes. Those silver/gray alloys live behind the full-sized hub caps. I think that removing the big hub caps is a big improvement.

    Those look great, KRMCG.

The center cap is perfect and even lug nuts look good.

That said -- for your B & W set up -- have you considered getting black plastic lug nut caps? I got some for a black SAAB because its lug nut got rusty, but it turned out they looked better than the brightest chrome. Might not be your thing, just a thought. If your did like them, they would be your cheapest mod yet.

BTW, you need to start a thread with a full album of everything you have done.

Well, a Saab dealer is no longer an option.....

Must be on line. The ones I had were rounded like a bullet but I think there is a wide variety out there. FWIW, they just press on but never come off by themselves. Mine came with a little tool to grasp them so the wouldn't get scratched when removing the wheel.

No kidding. They look much better in the picture. Have you noticed any degradation in fuel efficiency? I've heard so much crap I can't tell what's what anymore about this issue.

I never kept the covers on at all; my amazing MPGs are without. I can't imagine that the difference is measureable.

I pulled off one of my "pizza cutter" hubcaps today for the first time. Man, is that wheel filthy! I got some cleaning to do this weekend.

But I actually like the hubcaps. Unlike the alloy wheels, the plastic hubcap is easily replaceable if I skin one up. I might even buy a second set, a different looking set, so I can change them occasionally and have a new look.
