    Hello,

The check engine light went on this morning. Went to a local service station to get the code checked. (Toyota dealer was closed because of Labor Day.) They pulled this code.

    How bad is this?

I'm 350 miles away from home, can I drive it and let my hometown mechanic repair it, or should I have it taken care of before I drive back tomorrow?

What's a reasonable price to fix this?

Anything else I should know about this issue?

    Thank you in advanced...

    M

What year is your car? How many miles on it?

How badly is it misfiring? The most common problems with misfiring is a bad spark plug or a bad coil.

2010. 65300 miles. Not misfiring badly. If the light wasn't on, I probably would not have noticed it.

Then it probably is safe to drive home, just remember you won't have as much power as normal.

It might be an egr issue, which has an extended warranty
