I actually like it. Though the mouth decals are kinda neat.

As a BEV it doesn't need a grill for ICE cooling, which is what would be there instead, and we've all seen good and poor examples of that recently. A nose cone could give it a sleeker looking front end, but it may not actually help much for aerodynamics while adding weight. Then the pointier nose has been done on numerous other cars. So it provides a brand identifying design element that is unique. I think it is better than what Lexus is trying in that department.

okay, that's one, we need a poll.
i don't think it would add weight, since you'd be cutting off the pig nose. and common sense says a wedge would be more aero than a plow. but what do i know.

I feel like I'm the only one who likes the nose design.

EDIT: Looks like I'm not the only one thanks to Trollbait!

Aerodynamics are a little more complex than that: Beginner's Guide to Aerodynamics

In WW-I the common knowledge was thin, narrow wings which turned out to be the wrong answer: horrible handling and biplane structures with great drag. Between the wars, we learned to make a smooth transition and actually made the wings thicker. Airplane handling significantly improved in both biplanes and the monoplanes. The P-51 brought a laminar flow wing where the maximum thickness was moved toward the middle, further reducing drag.

The only planes that have more tapered to the point of sharp leading edges today are supersonic and their aerodynamics are in another dimension ... over an order of magnitude faster with horrible lift-to-drag ratios.

The only area of concern can be 'tuff tested' easily. If there is flow separation, the curve is too steep. But this requires testing. So I volunteer if someone will give me a Tesla to test for say a year or two.

20 tons of downward vectoring thrust? .... we don't need no stinkin' lift

but you DO need over 100 mil. per copy .... program to cost over a trillion through its life expectancy

The simple rain drop is one of the most aerodynamic shapes. It doesn't fall point first.
The Tesla nose isn't flat. It curves, directing airflow to the sides. A wedge could direct more airflow over the top. This might lead to more lift at high speeds, and the use of drag inducing spoilers to counter it.

With the blunt nose, Tesla's still have some of the lowest Cd values of any production car.

i mean the model 3. the s doesn't have the pig nose. see, tesla has given us 3 beautiful cars, so they can't hide behind cd. toyota has never built a beautiful car, so, they have an excuse.

Better look again. I just saw a 2017 MS pulling up behind me southbound 5 freeway about a week ago. My first thought was, "that model X looks way too low". All 3 models now are identical looking regarding the front.

The one I saw was the metallic light brown .... they haven't had a brown iirc since model year 1. Don't hate me, but I thought it looked pretty bitchin

oy, they're copying toyota's 'we need an ugly identifying feature'. oh well, i won't be buying a tesla for awhile, if i live that long.

Hate to rain on your parade buddy, but raindrops fall as almost perfect spheres. So for better aerodynamicseshoul be driving round (lol) in big balls. (waits for smart nice person jokes)!

forgive if i pick nits - but raindrops (unlike a metal car body or a bird's body - which benefit from an aero shape), are liquid - so principals of gravity & surface tension affect rain shape into a somewhat spherical configurations. Ie rain doesn't need to get where it's going in an efficient matter. Same with snowflakes ... even less Aero.
