So what does the vent diagram mean when you go front front seats to all seats? Just to make you feel better.:ROFLMAO:

That's part of the S-Flow system (different from the MODE in the climate control). The "S" stands for "smart". It's supposed to have even finer control over the fan speed and temperature sensor to direct air to just the driver's seat, front seats only or all seats (which is the same as turning S-Flow off). Yeah it probably works better with actual rear A/C vents. But in the Prius, it probably just means turning the fan up a bit to reach the rear passengers and cool the entire cabin.

I've noticed that when I'm alone the front passenger vents don't blow either, clever.

Yup. And if you switch the 4.2" TFT screen (We'll call it MID for convenience), to the climate control screen, you'll see that S-Flow is set to "Driver only"

Noticed an X on the seats where there were no warm bodies.

Why would you need booster cables? o_O (I'm new to Hybrid)

I have been trying to figure this out myself. I don't mind cloth seats that don't heat up. I think the Prius 3 with the Advanced Tech Package is the best bang for the buck (maybe add fog lights later) ;)

You don't, at least not necessarily the fat-wire kind needed to jump-start a non-hybrid car.

To jump-start a Prius with a weak 12-volt battery, thinner jumper wires would suffice---and would be a lot lighter and easier to store. Toyota discourages attempting to jump-start a normal car from a Prius because that's risky to the expensive electronics, as well as likely to be unsuccessful (although a few people claim to have done so successfully).

I carry a Lithium light weight jump starter kit and it works on all vehicles so far. Shop around as those go on sale frequently. Think I paid less than $79 for each anker one. TBD.

Yep, you can always add Katzkin real leather seats later or just keep a cover over the drivers seat.

Fog lights don't impress me at all.

Many folks have many reasons. For starters, to help out someone else stuck, or if you've run your 12 volt down.

With a Prius though, a jump pack is recommended/preferable for helping others. It allows you to jump your own vehicle too.

Much smaller than jumper cables in the back.

My little Anker works great and is the size of an old classic cell phone from the 80's.

    Update:
I always drive in "Normal" mode. Now I am at 6200km and the average fuel consumption, as measured by the car, is solid 3.8l/100km. Between May and now, mid September the car was driven in mixed city and why traffic. Mostly hey at 105-120 km/hr. Considering the extremely hot months of July and August the AC was almost always on. One interesting observation - yet to be double checked, the cosumption indicator does not seem to register when the engine is running, but the car is stationary. If I recall the Gen 2 cars were showing on the consumption bar when the car was idling. Hm.... As we know it is almost impossible to avoid 'useless idling'. If I am correct the mileage is under reported on the dash display.

Yeah they started that trend with the Gen 3 in 2010. The bar essentially goes "off" instead of reporting 99.9L/100km when you're stopped. It'll fill up once you start crawling. It's annoying. I can see why marketing might want to remove that (psychological factor) but idling is idling. Why shouldn't it show 99.9L/100km?

Because the elapsed distance is 0 you would be dividing by 0. That's not possible so the only answer is not to display anything until you moving.

Fair. But in mpg, you are getting 0 distance per gallon of fuel. In L/100km, it's infinity so you could just display the maximum value the display is capable. I can understand that it may be misinterpreted as the actual value of the maximum displayable value (in our case, that's 10L/100km) which is false.

But again, the Gen 2 display worked that way. It's one way to tell if the engine was idling while you were stopped.

L/100KM is division. If KM traveled is 0 you are dividing by 0. Division by 0 is undefined.

If you're not moving, and burning gas, it's going to take an infinite amount of gas to go 100 km, correct?

I would think that either "infinite liters per 100 kilometers" or "zero miles per gallon" would sum up that scenario.

Or undefined. Undefined would describe it too.
