Did you disengage the parking brake? Toyota DRLs have an override. You can disengage the parking brake, they'll come on, then re - engage the parking brake and the DRLs should remain on till you turn off the ignition.

    @mark27lim

Someone here posted a pic with the bumper removed. I didn't see any extra wiring harness for the fog. Do you have a pic of it? Thank you.

Can't remember 100%, but you might need to shift to drive after disengaging the parking brake, the DRLs should come on, then put it in park again, the DRLs will remain on until you turn the ignition off.

tks for all u suggestions people but no dice. I even found a blank 10a fuse spot marked drl but when I put in the fuse also no difference. funny thing is I removed a fuse marked ffog and the fog light still works furthering my suspicion that the existing harness I found is not really the fog harness. but why is one wire linked to the headlights beats me. front parking sensors also wouldn't make sense.

I'll just put in the 87a relay instead then when it arrives next week :)

Here is a pic of the bumper removed. Not sure where/which harness you're talking about. Can you spot it?

Holy smoke! Taking the bumper off? Just to install "fog lights" that don't actually do sh*t to help in fog?!
Why didn't you guys just buy a model that already has the fake fog lights?

Don't try to distract these guys with reality. :ROFLMAO:

Seriously, I have the Toyota fog lights on our Canadian Touring, they are not useful.

Again, I would consider just painting the black inserts body colour.

The 2016 LED headlights give off plenty of lights so we don't need more "lights". The fogs are just for looks...even though the 2016 fogs are quite brighter than your 2010...

Not completely in jest: maybe they should make a faux fog light. Or just get those Chinese knock-offs, but don't bother to wire it. I mean, they look great.

Exactly. I wouldn't mind just popping in some non-wired lights. (And I'm still looking for some non-illuminated door sill protectors... just peel & stick. :))

Man, that's a LOT of work. Do they really have to remove the bumper? That's a great picture. Get to see all the inner-workings and "guts." Sure looks complicated, doesn't it? You can see the "crash protection" stuff. Very interesting.

Are door sills (non illuminated are just fine) standard on any 2016 level?

tks for digging up this picture I remember seeing it before. well in my jdm rhd gen4 which had blanks, I found the unused harness on this side being mounted to one of the chassis holes that you see here (either the red or silver part, have to check again). the equivalent one on the opposite side was just taped to the harness of another device (maybe the wiper pump or something). it has 4 pins in a 2x2 configuration with one pin unused/missing. one of them is linked to the headlights.

actually in this picture, there seems to be a number of harnesses missing. in my car there seems to be more unused harnesses in the region you see exposed in the picture. I just used the one that seemed closest to where the fog blanks are. I suspect the number of spare harnesses may vary according to region.

Vince , have you seen the lexus sport fog light they kind small . I don't know the price buy they are smaller than the truck fog in the pic . I think they will look nice on Prius. I been think of what to put in there. 280.00 a piece from the dealer is way too much. Toyota made a mistake by not adding the Fog light as a standard for all the Prius or it only about greed. rather spend that with my son . Lol

How did you do that? Did you have to take off the bumper?

*Somebody* scratched one of my door sills already. I wonder WHO that could be? (I asked Penelope, but she clammed up!) I'd like to blame it on the oil change guy at the dealer :cautious: but no proof.
