This forum helped me out with my last issue, hoping to get some ideas on what to check next. I have a 2004 Toyota Prius with 198k on it.

About two weeks ago, my VSC light came on. After checking the manual and determining there seemed to be nothing unsafe, I continued driving it. I pulled the code and came up with VSC 34 which is the yaw rate sensor. About 4 weeks ago, I had new struts, new tire, and an alignment for the car, so I thought it might be a calibration issue.

Hoping it would be a calibration issue, I took it in to the Toyota dealership. They ran the diagnostics and told me it was the yaw sensor and it would be $1159 to replace it... After I laughed(and paid them $124), I said I would replace it myself. When I picked up the car, the brake light, the (!) light, the VSC, and the ABS light were now on. I inquired, but they told me the tech had left and I would have to bring it back in the next day to have them look at it again. I didn't have time, but noted that now my ABS brakes were disabled and the braking felt different.

Over the weekend, I sourced a used yaw sensor and installed it. The lights did not clear, but now codes VSC 45, ABS 42, and (!) 66 are the codes I am pulling. The code 43 seems to be cleared. I tried the reset with jumping the pins in the OBD and pressing the brakes 8 times, but they only went off for a few seconds before resuming the blinking in the diagnostic mode. I also tried disconnecting the 12V battery for a few minutes and that did nothing.

I have checked all the fuses in the main fuse box along with the voltage at the jumper port (12.45V) with the engine off. There didn't seem to be anything major that was wrong. According to my records from the previous owner, the 12V battery(optima yellow top) seems to be from 7/2012, I hear that it can start causing problems if it is getting old.

Any ideas on what to check next? I read about the ABS relays, will try to look into that tomorrow.
    -Check fuses
    -Replace battery?
-Anything else to check before it goes to the dealership?

Interesting, I will ask about the brake actuator pump. They told me they checked and all recalls had been performed on the car. Any idea if the brake actuator pump is a recall or if it only gets replaced when it fails?

Could be a wheel speed sensor.

Only if you get the relevant trouble lights/DTCs. Here is one thread with a fair bit of info:

Thanks for the suggestions, I ended up taking it back to the dealer today. They performed a zero point calibration on the yaw sensor and all the error lights turned off. Hoping that it will stay that way.

A followup on this thread concerning the few 'mystery' blink codes that can't be found in some editions of the Gen 2 manual (36 on ECB, 42 on ABS, 43 or 45 on VSC): more here.

Old thread, but because the ECB code was 66, that issue would have been solved by going through the linear solenoid valve offset learning procedure.
