2012 Prius c 221,000 miles hybrid battery dead

The Prius Plug-in is categorized as an "Enhanced AT PZEV"
The Prius Liftback is categorized as a "PZEV"
The Prius C and Prius V are categorized as "LEV-II SULEV"

Enhanced AT-PZEV is a vehicle that meets the AT-PZEV requirements and makes use of an off-board ZEV fuel such as electricity or hydrogen.
PZEV – Partial Zero Emission Vehicle is a vehicle emissions rating within California’s exhaust emission standards. Cars that are certified as PZEVs meets the Super Ultra Low Emission Vehicle exhaust emission stardard, has zero evaporative emissions from its fuel system and includes a 15 year / 150,000 mile warranty on the emissions system. PZEVs run on gasoline, yet offer extrememly clean emissions and an extended warranty and zero evaporative emissions. PZEVs have a Smog Rating of 9.
SULEV – Super Ultra Low Emission Vehicle is a vehicle emissions rating within California’s LEV 1 and LEV 2 exhaust emission standards.

The Prius C and Prius V have a Smog Rating of 8/10, and are thus NOT considered as PZEV, hence NO 10yr/150k mile warranty.

It does not matter if it is in the warranty book or not, its a state law, that gives all Hybrid owners, not just Toyota 10 year/ 150K mile warranty coverage.

 

Emission system items are not the same as Hybrid System items........in 8 or so states, like California, Hybrid systems have a 10 year or 150K mile warranty.

 

Nope, PriusC commuter is correct. I went to 2013 Toyota Prius c and found the Prius c is classified in California as Level II SULEV not PZEV so it doesn't have to meet CARB 10/150k warranty.

 

Have you checked this switch? Take off panel, it's under back right seat. Down, it disconnects the hybrid battery. Up, it connects it.

 

Besides the traction battery have you had to replace any other hybrid or drivetrain components in your 221,000 miles?

 

How much does the high-voltage battery weigh in the prius c?

 

153,000 mile dead battery. Not done going over details with dealership atm. Still don't know all of the codes popping up.
