Are Subaru's comparable to Toyota/Honda in longevity?

Out here in Colorado, there are a ton of 20 year old Subaru's cruising around with 250k on them

We have a Mazda 5 and just purchased a 2012 Prius Four, but was also considering to go with Subaru Outback or the new Crosstek. Maybe I should just swap the Mazda with Subaru :)

When the wife's 98 4Runner with 255 k finally gives up the ghost, she wants an outback:).

I see plenty of them on Craigslist with over 200k on them out here. And people are the worse enemies of cars out here:confused:.

No salting of roads or inclement weather;).

Bluegrassman, Welcome to the world of Hybrid driving. It is different, but you will have minimal repair cost for the next 3 years versus 3 years with non-hybrid cars. You'll see. You'll grow to love your car even more. I have had mine over 1 year (bought it new) and yes, it still feels like a new car!! (maybe its the Two-Tone Clazzio Seat covers I recently installed?) Please enjoy reading all the threads in here. We got people from all around the world!! You will also see a lot of tips on repairs. Read the modification areas with caution!! I guarantee if you do, you will modify something, then something else, then another part, then something that seems cheap, till you really want to do it right..............Anyway, enjoy Priuschat..........................and get a Priuschat decal!!!

Why do I hear about all the engine rebuilds at 150-200k? My friends outback just recently barfed it's tranny. Google Subaru engine and tranny failures. I'm calling bull crap on the Subaru vote.
