when I installed the fogs on my 2012 I went through the firewall. right where the steering wheel comes into the cabin, there was a rubber seal. It was as simple as taking a piece of metal hanger, taping the wire to it and pushing it through. Not sure if this has the same setup.

still confused on this- so the harness will allow you to activate all the drls but you still need a switch for the fogs, or will the drls and the fogs need a switch

ok that's also a good idea. you can temporarily test with fuse taps first. theoretically you only need to control one switch as the two lights are supposed to be mutually exclusive ie when one is on the other should always be off and vice versa. to achieve this you will need a 87a changeover relay and a tap to the "ready" or "accessory" 12v line.

    lohi,

I did past fog light installs on other cars, one by running wiring through the firewall, one by fuse tap.
So, if I find an easy access location to run wiring though the firewall, I will do that.
Use a double toggle switch, I guess.
I want minimum panels to remove/replace, or I would just do a fuse tap to the DRL or headlight.

I eagerly await the final outcome of this thread. The loss of my DRLs and fogs were the only downgrade coming off a genIII

    thanks,
My other install were to H11 fog bulbs, so generic harness was o.k.
    Run wiring, plug and play.

The 2016 light housing has square 3 pin connection I am not familiar with.
To control 2 different bulb circuits.

Wait till harness comes, then plan the wiring route.

    mark,

It makes sense that your model was pre-wired, as you had the stalk-mounted switch for the fogs.
808custom took off his bumper (model 2), to do a custom front end, and he didn't have any harness.

But is the concern just the fog light activation of the drl as well? There is already a drl switch on the stalk but i guess it is a level of headlight at the moment.

correct, since we both have 4s, and not really sure how the 4 touring fogs operate.
Our current DRL on the stalk, turn on DRL in the headlights. I'm thinking of tapping the
3 smaller lights to the DRL, then use switch to turn on the upper fog lights.
But, if running wires through firewall, then might as well have double toggle switch operate both.

Need some thought on how to run the circuits. I'll wait til my harness arrives, then
    figure on circuit.

I couldnt find a part number for the harness, is it oem? Im not understanding isnt the harness part of the efi main harness usually?

Seems like the easiest thing to do with the drls is to tap the current drls that way you dont have ti worry about them on with the headlights

hi guys actually my prius doesn't come with any drl or fog switches in the cabin or on the stalk. my stalk only has parking lights and headlights symbols. i tested the 3pins on my prewired harness and noticed that one pin seems to turn on with the parking and headlights. i can then use this pin to join to either my fog wire or drl wire or even both at the same time. the remaining two pins one is ground and one seems to be unknown.

    o.k., I'll see upon receipt.

If not, return, and see if they have OEM harness.
They are good in returns, replacement, or refund.

    mark,

Do you know the name/part number of the 4 prong plug that would attach to the
    Fog light fixture?

If I cannot find OEM harness, I may need to put one together.

    lohi,

I contacted Toyota On Line parts, and they said I needed 82113-47310.
Original order was not shipped yet, so they will just send corrected harness.
    Same price.

    Thanks for checking,

I am crossing my fingers that this is correct part.
Hey, Toyota parts guy said it is what I need.
    They are the professionals.

I hate lying on the ground, working in a small, confined space,
