Driver-side mirror heater stopped working

I was not even aware of the heated mirror feature. Just reading a little in the manual of our (Canadian) 3rd gen model, I see you turn them on when you press rear defog. Thanks.

(In the 2 years we've had the car, with mild winters, I don't think they've been needed, or testable.)

 

I just completed this task on my 06 uk model.essential for my 5:30 AM commute, easy job. eBay heated mirror unit item no. 121628101539

Could not get the wires through the rubber door tubes but tucked behind and totally unseen.

Also needed to unscrew the security screws under the mirrors to get the wires into the mirror housing.

Very happy with the results!
