Do we have two different batteries? When I'm in EV mode, everything is awesome, acceleration and speed. Once that gets depleted and goes into HV, it all fail. My real question is when at a traffic light from red to green. Do you usually use ICE to keep up with traffic then decelerate into Electric part of HV? I always try to stay EV half of HV, but the car behind me always in my rear end.

There is only one traction battery. When it is "depleted", there is still a small charge remaining to allow HV mode, which, as in the regular Prius, doesn't allow pure EV operation at high speed or torque so as to maintain a minimum charge allowing idle-free operation. It's not really "falling apart", just not using the traction battery much. Best to forget about trying to stay in the "EV half" of the accel meter, and drive as you need to. The car's computers will take care of keeping operation highly efficient, with the ICE coming on as needed.
