So...just asked a dealer at Toyota of Seattle regarding the availability of the Prime and they said that only a few selected states will get the Prime this year, California and some NE states. WA will not get any....wow...that's a surprise. He said they might come here some time 2017....I guess I'll go to CA to buy one...just a bit of a pain to not be able to test drive one and look at actual colors.
Definitely interested in a Titanium Glow Prime Plus......does anybody have some good pictures of the Titanium Glow color (in sun, in shade, etc.)?
    thanks much!

Wait, What? No Primes in Seattle? Seriously Prii make up at least 15% of the cars on the road around here. I can't believe it would be any different in Seattle. I live in Southern Oregon and the dealers has two inbound for early November.

thanks for the photo/video! I also could hardly believe it, but that's what the dealer told me here at the dealership...I'll be calling around this afternoon to verify this with other dealers in the area...

Well, if Wa is not getting any this year, Nebraska sure won't be getting any. Looks like coal in my stocking for another year.

I would call other dealers near you. It's very surprising if the information you were given is true.

So true...there was a lot of mis-information from certain dealers when PiP came out. Basically some dealers were not in the game, so they said ixnay. But if you went to the dealers playing ball, you got the deal. At that time, the question was: could you go out of state, like from Ca to MD, and still get the discounts? Some MD dealers said nobody can do that, but other MD dealers did just exactly that. At that time, CA PiP prices were sky high.

Well - it seems this is true since I just called Toyota of Kirkland...and they gave me the same information - only Oregon and California will get the Prime. He didn't know whether this was a short term or long term. policy....bummer!

I guess Illinois is SOL too. I just did a live chat with my dealer and he had no clue. They will try to get back to me tomorrow.

Lots of dealers in western WA. Call around.

Just before the Gen 3 was launched, I called 6 local dealers about it. 3 of them said the 2010 model is a carry over so I ignored them. 3 of them knew of the redesign and were willing to help. Needless to say, I bought mine from one who was knowledgeable.

I just got an email from perhaps the largest dealer in Ohio (Toyota Direct, Columbus) and he said they would have a Prime in 2 months.

In reference to plug ins, compliance cars are those sold in a few states, and most likely CARB states at that, or even California alone.

Volt is sold in nationwide, and Toyota has said the same for the Prime.

It is a 2017 year model that doesn't reach any dealer lots until next month. There is no way it reach every state before the end of the year, and Toyota could limit the amount going to the West Coast, to ensure some get to their big markets on East Coast.

Can't you build the car you want online and have it shipped to any dealer? I play with the build your vehicle website options sometimes just to see what features are available, but I've never bought a new car, so I don't know how it works.

No (or, not yet, anyway). You can build whatever you want online, but then you have to search available inventory to find what you want; or, you can order exactly what you want through a dealer and wait.

Had an email today from a Toyota dealership 200 miles away from me in Kansas City, Mo that wanted me to trade my 2011 in for a new Prius. I sent back a reply saying I would do so for a 2017 Prime. Have heard nothing back.
