Paying $1,500 will get another 100,000 extra miles bumper to bumper warranty for 2016 Prius. Good or No good? TIA!

Probably better off setting the money aside and using it IF you have a problem - if no then you are ahead!

15 you're in a 150k state, and you plan on 250k, i'd say good. but you'll only have bumper to bumper for 12k.

sorry! i think i'm confused. there are many different warranties on prius. 12 months, 12,000 miles, bumper to bumper. 36 month, 36,000 miles, drivetrain. 60 months, 60,000 miles, pollution components. and 8 years/100,000 mile hybrid components in some states, or 10 years/150,000 miles in others. i'm not sure what your getting for the $1,500.?

    Ripoff. Big time ripoff.

Prius is the most reliable car built. I have 100,000 miles and zero repairs of any kind. I do my own maintenance, which is very cheap, and the car is like new.

    I call Bull Shite!

No insurance underwriter will give you # Years/100K miles of BUMPER to Bumper warranty.
Auto manufactures only provide a limited year/mileage bumper to bumper warranty coverage; mileage is well under 100K too!

Did you even read the toilet paper (extended warranty contract) the dealership is pushing onto you? I guarantee you it is not bumper-to-bumper as you daydream it to be.

Upload the contract or sales brochure.

If it includes the regular maintenance (unlikely at that price) absolutely.

    Maintenance isn't that expensive:
    First 36,000: Already covered
    7 oil changes @ $50 each: $350
Two cabin air filter and engine air changes: $80

Unless you do all the tire rotations, $430 is the cost of 70,000 miles of Prius scheduled maintenance.

Just a quibble (I get your larger point) but you get a maximum of 2 free oil changes with a 2016.

Of course, lots of us do. But for someone who doesn't, I wanted to show how little the "scheduled maintenance" is worth if you pay a shop. Not much...

The first thing those contracts say is that they don't cover the bumpers. Ha ha.
