Alright so I had a friend of mine (BS/MS in electrical engineering) install the hybrid automotives grid charger and everything went smoothly. We charged and balanced the pack for about 24 hours total. This was a healthy pack with no signs of a degrading battery pack.

After I disconnected the grid charging system I left the car for aboutique 24 hours and then went to start the car and all it will not go to ready. It plays music and shows engine lights and the big hybrid triangle of death on the dash and the display screen. Car will not start.

Tried disconnecting the 12v ground for a minute and then reconnected. Still not working.

Not sure where to go from here?

Try to lock the orange interlock switch. Press downward to lock it in place

I am pretty sure we locked that back down. But I will go back in there and unlock and relock it back down and see what happens. I left the 12 connected while grid charging, maybe that cause problems...not sure

We got to the orange interlock switch and we had it locked upwards. So we must have put it in upside down. Been trying for 15 minutes to put it in the other way with no luck yet...

Now my only problem is that both the Regen and friction breaks are making noise ( each a different noise). But the friction break noise existed before grid charging (not the Regen one though).

Can you elaborate on the noise? How many miles in your car? Have you ever changed transaxle fluid?

230k miles about and I just purchased 4 quarts of the designated transmission fluid for the vehicle (changing it out monday). The friction noise is a grinding noise that only happens under 7 MPh or I put it in neutral. The Regen braking noise sounds like a whirring type winding down noise. Was happening when driving a bit too.

Change the transaxle fluid and see if anything changes. Low speed whining sounds while in neutral is usually not transaxle related.

Check your brakes, tires, alignment and suspension for wear

The caliper glide pins need to be lubricated, that can prevent the calipers from releasing properly and can produce that grinding sound. I think this is your problem

I was able to snag a damaged packaging power evolution stop brake pad and rotor brake kit for the front of a gen 2 prius for 50 bucks (normally 125). Ceramic/carbon fiber mix pads and zinc something plated rotars. I was planning to replace all of that and clean and lube the calipers and see if that fixes the braking issue. Also the transmission fluid change will be it's first it's entire life (and first brake change too)

Really hoping it is not a wheel bearing, I work a lot of my vehicles (all engine related work) but wheel bearings sound like a pain.

I don't think it's a wheel bearing, let's hope it isn't. 230k miles and it's the first major service. Give the car some love

Be sure to disconnect the 12v battery before you start the brake work. You'll end up with a whole new set of problems if you don't.

    Hi Kracken,

I'm dealing with a very similar issue and actually just posted a thread. I tried to install the Revolt Gen2 harness. (I'll upload the guide).

I'm hoping that removing and putting the the hybrid plug the correct way will help.

    Thanks!

Try the unplugging thing and see how it goes.
Has the charger even charged the battery yet?
