I tried to do the pulse and slide at the speed of 100km/hr. Pulse to 110km/hr then slide down to 90km/hr.., then repeat this again and again.

See attached, does it mean i succeed?

    Thanks

I can't see your attachment. But Pulse & Glide (P&G or PG) is not the same thing as Super Highway Mode (SHM).

SHM works much better on the Gen2 Prius (model years 2004-200) and Honda hybrids (Civic, Insight) of similar vintage. In the Gen3 (2010 and later), it requires more work for less gain, and helps only in very limited circumstances, so seems to be rarely used. Most of the benefit that drivers could achieve in the Gen2 are automatically rolled into the Gen3's computerized operation.

P&G works best at speeds low enough to allow the ICE to shut off and stop spinning, i.e 46 mph or 74 kph. Above that speed, it has far less savings to offer, and is very unfriendly in traffic. The great majority of us don't bother with it at such speeds.

The last 15 mins near 30km/L and then over 40km/L is pretty impressive.

Safe to assume HK traffic is appalling? 15km/h average speed is really low. If I drive in rush hour traffic, my average speed over the entire tank is usually 22km/h. I see why you want to make it up on the highway!

Yeah man, i am getting to 23km/hr now though.

HK traffic sucks. So i gotta have to make it in highway.

SHM is having the engine running but at a lean, efficient mode such that most or all of the power made is directed to the wheels to move the car forward. There's no excess power generated that needs to be sent to the battery. (That's how HSD works. It spins the engine efficiently to give you the power you want but if there's excess, it goes into the battery).

This allows you to use very little fuel while still moving at highway speed.

P&G is accelerating moderately to take advantage of engine torque and efficiency at higher rpm to get up to your desired speed and then shutting off the engine and gliding down. It seems like you already know what P&G is. Here in North America, we can use a P&G of 60km/h-40km/h. So pulse up to 60 and then glide down to 40 and repeat (of course depending on traffic. Don't make other people angry)
