A lot of the time, the clunk you hear is from the blade flipping over when it changes direction, but these single piece rubber blades are quieter. The Prius is so quiet that you begin to notice the lower volume noises that you just wouldn't in other cars.

I'm not sure myself. My experiments were before soap impregnated wire/steel wool was invented. Otherwise - I would have tried that too. Though, I believe soap won't burn.

I think you're joking, but just in case - wax on a wide-screen is really bad for wiper blades as it increases the friction.

Given enough oxygen and an igniter and POOF!

Yes they are new and improved wipers . I got the pip on 6/2016 they said the rubber is damage. They have to do a special order. Thanks appreciated

The arm is jumping a lot so it doesn't not clean the water out . They told me is the rubber . They rather change the rubber than the arm of those wipers. I be getting them on Saturday. I think arm is damage. When the rubber is bad they make noise. The jumping of the wiper arm is something different. I told the service advisor. They don't listen at all. It should not be any noise at all.

Thanks, Will try that too. I getting them new on Saturday. They have to do special order to charged the warranty more money. After 5 month it too early to replace them. The arm are jumping. It could be a different problem. We see on Saturday!!

My windows are slick as a baby's butt. I've been waxing my car windows for the last 30 years. I do it about four times a year, and the wipers have always worked great.

But, I still get the occasional water spots.

They replace the Wipers new no charged. No more noise warranty covers. The water spot could be the cars washer. I cleaned my in my house. The Gen 3 had a lot of water spot. I stop the cars washer.

Doesn't the Gen4 come with a rain repellant coating on the windscreen? At least in some countries? Is this as hard as steel?

My Gen2 has a v scratched screen. No idea why except wear an d tear, maybe from de-ICE scraping, but this doesn't give the impression as a result of being v hard. Glass cut type products have failed to fix the scratches.

Not so long ago in the UK a teenage girl lost her fingers which were horribly burnt in a careless school experiment with, I think, plaster of paris. I agree that fear of lawsuits sadly distorts things but I'm not sorry where unnecessary risks are avoided.

The "clunk" I hear is not the rubber blades flipping over. The sound is from the motor coming to a stop at the top of the sweep... and then reversing itself. But it's not a problem because it only rains here once every 5 years. (And when I have the radio on I can't really hear the clunk.)

OEM wipers are like OEM tires.

At 64,000 kms, still on OEM wipers, and tires. Car is garage stored, and swap to snow tires in winter, so cheating a little, lol.
