I just got myself a 2012 Prius v Five in White, already really liking the car. I'm getting a little bit used to having a slightly larger car, I'm coming from a 2005 Ford Focus. I have a whole bunch of options on the car and I've so far only begun to start playing with it. My favorite, really most used so far, feature is the keyless entry. Just walk up, grab the handle and open the door. I'm debating changing the unlock to more doors. It's a family car, after all, so I kinda want more doors open. Especially if I have my son and I want to put him in the back seat. Then I don't have to open and unlock the other doors. Wow, you guys are already helpful. Thanks! :p I also have a panoramic roof, and I think it's cool because now my son can look up at the stars when we drive at night... at least that's one thing I tell myself. It's still nice though. The cargo space, well I can't wait to make use of it, haha. I played around with it a little and got Entune going. Pandora starts playing from my phone when I get in the car, which I love. Radio around me is pretty repetitive because of a lack of variety of stations.

I also own an 88 Mustang GT that I play with in the summer as an autocross/fun car. Obviously a different goal with that car. And my wife drives a 2003 Passat.

I've read up a little bit on some hacks. I really need to get the reverse beep turned off. That is soooo annoying. And allowing navigation while driving. Anyhow. I'm glad to now be a Prius owner. I think it will be a great family car to get us all from a-b and maybe throw a few c's and d's in there so we can see a little more.

Anyone have anything they did to their car that they feel like they couldn't do without now? I was wondering if it might be worth getting a leather steering wheel cover, but cost just seems not worth it when I can wear leather driving gloves I already own.

I haven't turned off the annoying reverse beep yet. Torn between going to the dealer or getting my own "Carista" and doing it myself.

From what I read it is just a series of clicks and button presses? What is a Carista?

It is a hand held device that comes with a cable that you plug into your communication port in your car. From it, you can download software either to your smart phone or laptop and do everything from read your codes to turning things on or off. I have only seen it on Ebay or Amazon, or, special order from an automotive shop.

Welcome. I also autocross myself with a S2000. The Prius is a really great car. I'm a car guy and own a S2k and Nsx. Most people are surprised I drive a Prius. It's one of the most practical cars I have ever owned. I'm sure you will love yours.

One of the guys I autocross with that drives an S2000 in STR is always at the top of the pack. My Mustang, I started it in the new class STP. So far, yes, I love the practicality and I love trying to keep it in EV mode. Traveling for Thanksgiving tomorrow, so I get to see how it does with that. My wife finally got her first drive in it today and she said she liked how spacious it was. Does anyone know if the passenger seat can be adjusted down though? Again, yet to have the time to read the manuals.

No height adjustment on Toyota passenger seats.
