I'm struggling with Premium vs Advanced. Why go for the advanced? For me, the only real must-haves are the auto dimming rear view mirror and the blind spot monitor. The rest seems mostly for the upgraded audio and the Prime Apps (the latter expire in 3 yrs unless you pay about $150/yr). There are workarounds for most of the other features (e.g. remote climate, remote charging). So why get the advanced for an extra $4300? Am I missing something?

HUD, rear cross traffic alert, blind spot monitoring and Homelink are suffient for me. The two safety things add up to be essentially every near miss I've ever had in my entire life.

The Advanced model will have the following features over the premium model:

    Rain-sensing wipers
    Upgraded audio
    Head-Up display
Intelligent clearance sonar with park assist (self-parking feature)
    LED fog lights
    Blind-Spot monitoring/Rear cross traffic
    Heated steering wheel
    Auto-Dimming mirror/Homelink
    Safety connect services
    App integration
Cargo area heavy sliding tonneau cover

    Hope this helps!

I use to feel the same way but over the years of trying workarounds and watching others on forums attempt (and usually fail) the same thing, I've come to the conclusion it's best to get it from the factory instead. Better warranty too and usually cheaper in the end.

Little things you've never had before like rain-sensing wipers or HUD can become the things you come to love about a new car. BTDT

    Oh most def.

OTOH, many years ago we were getting a mini-van and I absolutely didn't want those new-fangled power doors but they were bundled with other features I did want so I very begrudgingly bought them. Looking back, those "stupid" doors were the best thing about that van. LOL

I personally going for the plus. I think the baseline is already adequate for me since I don't have too much money to set aside.

But I do like to have more doors that have the touch button to unlock my car like my Prius 3. And the option is to go with the premium.

Hard to understand them . We get the survey from Toyota asking us what we need to improve their product and at end they do what they want . Japan is getting the Prime with the Solar Panel. We are not

i could live with the base, the premium would be great and the advanced has some cool features, but i don't think i want to pay for them.

Don't worry about having to pay for the apps. Toyota said the same thing for my car. There's no market for it. No one is going to pay for it. Think about it, would you pay a premium to use 3 year old outdated apps? I'm surprised they're still shilling it. They kept it free on my car and I barely use it. Why would I care to wait 5 minutes for my car to sync up to Entune, when I can do the same thing on my smartphone in less than a minute.

You're not missing anything. Consumers told Toyota they want lots more features and technology in the PiP and they're willing to pay for it.

The big screen don't come in the base one. I like the big screen . Paying for something that don't have all feature or used then . Make no sense. Not even the back up camera shown in the 11 inch screen . I think is only half of the screen.

i'm seeing one at wellesley toyota, my closest dealer. premium blizzard pearl with moonstone. the whole website has changed as last week, the prime wasn't even in their inventory list, and the whole site looks updated. prime is showing $500. cash rebate, and $500. loyalty if you're in a current toyota lease.

Yeah but those that are getting the solar roof, you can't have the HUD, BSM, RCTA, ICS and IPA. It's fine if you don't want them but some people do.

There's also the price of the solar roof. We can wait and benefit from either a lower cost or an improved version if/when it arrives on our shores.

I'd still rather have E-Four than the solar roof - by far.
