That would have worked for me before we had our second child.

Now, if we need to take the grand parents or friends, or whatever, we need 6 seats so we have a Mazda5 with 3rd row (I would have bought the Prius+ which is the 7-seat V in a second if they had brought it to the US, but they didn't). With just us, it's two adults and two kids and there's no real way you're getting a human between two car seats in the back of a regular Prius. We've done it for 6 blocks, with a sub 100 pounder in the middle with no seat belt, but that's about it.

I will say having to take hwy 580 at the Berkeley part on a daily basis with a child is a feature.

The issue with the carbon fiber hatch production delayed the release in Japan. They were scheduled first.

We are the more challenging market. Avoiding low-hanging fruit to deal with secondary sales when resources are fresh & willing seems a very wise business move for a product intended to become high-volume.

there must be a lot of whining in japan. that's one thing i like about toyota vs the competition, they never make a bad business decision. always good for the customer in the long run.

In my opinion the aim of that Prius Prime commercial ISN'T to reach the ideal Prius Prime customer.

Given that the Prius is driven in separate scenes juxtaposed against the greatest moments/technological advances in human history, and the passenger keeps "doubting" the success of those advances, it seems to me the aim of the commercial is to reach those that would "doubt" the Prius Prime...or Hybrid Viability as a whole.

To me, that seems to be saying..."If you think a Prius Prime/Hybrid doesn't work? Then you are wrong"...and that isn't aimed at reaching the ideal Prius Consumer...that's aimed at reaching "New" Prius consumers.

In Prius Chat...don't we all know Hybrid "works"?

That's why I'm lukewarm on that commercial.
The passenger IN the Prius is initially shown as being "wrong" in evaluation. A real non-Prius attribute, IMO. Then this is all suppose to be redeemed by the illumination of the Prius Prime MFD screen? And the utterance "sweet"?

I'm not sure that message reaches much of anyone.

It does advance the Prius Prime as being a evolution in automotive advancement....
Just not sure it reaches that end in a very comprehensible manner to most consumers. I spent most of the commercial trying to figure out why the idiot in the passenger seat was even riding in a Prius to start with.

    Not so "Sweet".

Besides that $75k income, I am certainly the ideal customer. I'm not sure if that part about the income is accurate since the Prime is not too expensive.
I have been so excited to get a Prime I have started doing all of these things these past couple of months. I'm not sure of other forums are like this but PriusChat has certainly seemed approachable to me.

I'm an OCD kinda guy.....and the Prime (especially the Advance), feeds me, probably more than any other production vehicle! I'm an information hog: that, in combo with my ability to modify outcome here keeps me very satisfied and happy. Coincidently, the Prime happens to be a GREAT car. It all works so well and this vehicle surpasses my expectations. This is no ordinary car.

I'm CDO as well, but I think more severe- I keep the letters in alphabetical order like they should be...

I'm also CDO about reducing gas usage, but full electric isn't an option yet. This car really is the best of both worlds.

Yup, Toyota came out with a press release stating they're going to make an all electric car that gets 185 miles, I mean, really?!?! only 185 miles? Not worth it. Sometime in 2020 I think.

For me to be interested, it would have to be closer to 1,000 miles, with existing charging infrastructure.
