    Hello, Chatpeople.

Last night I went out to pick up my son at the movies. On the way there I noticed (in between songs) a very light ticking noise that seemed to be coming from beneath the steering column (the left side of the column, to be precise. While driving, I noticed that the noise stopped whenever I had my foot on the accelerator but would start up again whenever I was braking, coasting, or at a complete stop. Once I arrived at the theater(and while I was waiting for him to come out) I checked beneath the hood to see if the noise was coming from there (it wasn't). Earlier in the evening (when I drove him to the theater) I had noticed that the brakes felt different/awkward. Now, with my son in the car and as we drove home, I noticed that whenever I would let go of the gas i could feel the brakes kicking in slightly as the car was cruising (didn't feel it when I was accelerating, though). I decided, upon arriving home, to take it in this morning to see what was going on.

However, when I got in the vehicle this morning it was no longer making the ticking noise and the braking issue was also gone. I took it in anyway but, after about three hours of the vehicle, they could not duplicate what I had experienced and I picked it up. The car is less than six months old and I will be keeping my ears open but I thought I'd ask here if anyone else has experienced this issue before. Let me know. Thanks.

By the way, the ticking sound sounded very much like a relay going off and my (very uneducated nose) points to the regenerative braking system

ticking sounds have been reported in older pri as well, but no diagnosis has ever been made, to my recollection.

This is EXACTLY what happened to me this morning! Including the strange braking sensation. Did it ever happened again to you? Did anyone else experience this?
    1. It did sound like a bad relay to me too. But then why that weird bake feeling?
    2. It lasted for about 20 min. On and Off. It would go away at speeds over 40 MH but maybe it is because of other noises
    3. It would not go away after I changed mode to ECHO, and everything else. It did not even stopped after I turned the car off!
    4. Just did my 5,000 miles serves + fixed the parking brake recall a week ago.
    4. My millage is almost exactly 5,000 miles. Which together with the fact that the clicking did not stop even after I turned the car off, maybe hinting at some hybrid system job?

What was your millage when this happened?

    Anyone else had this issue?!

Update. My mileage was 4965 when this started. I still think it is something legit. Likely some work on the main battery. I attribute the strange braking feeling to the fact that regenerative braking was affected in some way. It felt like you just press the brake pedal and the car stops immediately. Different from day to day braking.

But what I am really surprised that no one else had this experience! I searched the whole internet and could not find anything else except this thread.
