Not that I'm shopping but does he have inventory?

He doesn't because they have not sold any plug-ins. He is confident he can get one, though. This is the guy that still drives a Gen 1 Prius.

After a phone call, here is the plan (God is snickering)
    • MSRP - $28,400
    • $500 - held the car while we did the financial stuff
    • Toyota loan - 0.9%, 60 months, $200/mo.
    • Papers to sign coming (overnight) dated Dec 28.
    • Send bank check for $16.5k in provided, overnight
    • Coordinate insurance coverage
    • Get $4,500 Federal tax credit
Soon as papers and check are sent, order cheap ticket(s), $100, last weeks in January, from Huntsville, AL to Providence, RI. The dealer will pick us (or me) at the airport on a Thursday and complete the deal. Check-in to a nice place within staggering distance from a recommended sea food restaurant in New Kingstown, RI, take a nap, and drive home:
    1. Holly comes with me - will ship luggage via usual suspects on that Monday to hotel or hold at the shipper depot. That way the airline gets no chance to lose it for us. We drive to New York City to spend Saturday with her son and a dinner date. Sunday, drive towards the DC area and invite her kids to have dinner with us either Sunday or Monday. Next day, drive home and pickup her doggies and home.
    2. Holly stays home - I'll pickup the luggage, load the car, take a nap, and see how the car handles a 1,000 mile trip. Be home Saturday with benchmark data.

You may spend New Year's on the road, then collecting data.

Cheap, non-refundable, no luggage, airline tickets require ~3 weeks lead time. So we're looking at the week before Martin Luther King Holiday, a 3-day weekend OR that week. We might ask our house keeper to run us up to Nashville and cut the price in half again and take a direct flight. <GRINS>

If it is just me, I'll take the bus. But yes, I appreciate the irony.

End of Jan.? But you well miss the inauguration! Been in DC in recent years? Beltway is totally redone in a good way. Remember snow shovels? Just saying. Megabus $1 tickets but it would probably take a week with all the connections. And finally someone who will get us some real data!

Is that the premium or advance? Can't be the plus...

Thanks Prodigyplace. I checked with just about every dealer with prime inventory in the DC area, ended up buying a Prime Advanced from a dealer near Baltimore on Christmas eve.
