I've only been here six years! There was a whole flood of Gen I and II owners before I even got an account.

I've been a home mechanic for thirty years -- just the basic stuff. When I got my first Prius it seemed hopelessly complicated, but every time I do some work on mine I learn a little more, like loosening the transmission fill bolt before you loosen the transmission drain bolt. That's something I fortunately didn't learn the hard way, I just figured it out.

I know some people lease a new car every 2-3 years, but I buy them and drive them to death. That's also part of being environmentally friendly.

A big part of any car forum is sharing the excitement and experience of new car ownership with other owners, but I'm not that guy this time.

In 2012, Bisco and I (with others) went through being the first to order the plug-in Prius, and putting down deposits, then tracking the container ships with our cars reach port, etc. Exciting days! And people used to marvel at my car's power connector. Only four years ago.

    Thanks for the history lesson.
I was referring to having to correct dangerous advice from some here. I have had to counter the bad for Gen 4 advice about grill-blocking several times. I would hate for somebody to damage their car due to outdated advice.

I am still learning about my car. We really appreciate the sage advice that comes from you guys. That is what drives this forum.

I've corrected other people's bad advice many times. Sometimes, people have corrected my bad advice.
