Welcome to the Lone Star state bud! Maybe I will see you around (I go to school in Galveston, but I visit friends in Dallas and Austin).

Going to remove the smoked tint, going to match the color them of the headlights. The taillights are a serious PITA to take apart. No baking to separate the lens, only hot soldering knife.

Havent posted in a while, but been busy. The current intake I'm using but will all go away with the turbo.

The E85 kit was a fail and is being removed as well. Oh well, it was free.
Looking for a new kit now. Throwing in some rebuilt Toyota 1ZZFE injectors rated at 260cc where the 1NZFXE are rated at 210cc. Should help with the a/f ratios as roughly 30% more fuel is needed when running E85. It may help also when tuning the turbo on 93 octane. Since even the Blitz supercharged Yaris needed a bit more fuel than what stick injectors could provide.

Why lowering your car without camber adjustability isnt good.

First time this car has ever seen gravel... ugh. Dust for days. Worth it tho when your going home to see family.

Intercooler mounted. Front piping attached and routed. I suppose I shouldn't be surprised that this is going together so well... it DID come off another Prius.

I went ahead and mounted the dual 7" electric fans that attach to the back of the Intercooler. Not sure if the engine and inverter temps will be higher with the intercooler blocking air flow, but if it does, I can activate the fans with either a manual or temp switch.

Need to figure out the turbo oil feed and oil drain before I start final assembly. Should be fun tho...

Aren't those tails fun to open? The original set I did have some chips and cracks so I will be building another set at some point, I have one housing already and tailing for another earlier housing (oem black turn signal portion) to pop up while at a salvage yard. I can't really decide what look to do, thinking of getting some cheap rectangular LED "pods" in amber, white, and red to replace the bulbs but only if I can mount them flush and have it look clean.

Do you have any links to dynographs or real world info of the turbo kit installed on a Prius?

Jeremy's build is in a completely different category altogether that your car, your mods are "creative" and revolve around a unique disruptive style where these mods are tasteful and functional.

Serious pain..I went thru 2 different soldering tools before I realized that I didn't have enough heat. 25w wasn't enough.

I ordered some small led projectors but didn't like the light output. Bright enough but not enough coverage. Would love to figure out some sort of diffuser setup.

    8F6C9E7B-EB66-4524-B4DE-D2718D05C2CB-282-0000001F51B6FD5E_tmp.jpg

Since the kit was never released for individual purchases and only sold with a car for $95K, not much public info is to be found. I have a couple research pdfs from the original hydrogen deployment. Not sure if a dyno was ever seen, but Quantum claimed they were able to utilize the turbo to get the engine back to 70hp when using hydrogen where stock it was 74hp. The GT1241 Turbo is tiny and maxes out at 130hp, but if I can even get close to that being the 1NZFXE is rated at 74 hp would be a huge improvement. I have only seen a handful of any Gen2 Prius dyno'd as well with stock setups. Coupled with the electric motor, they usually peg around 100hp and a lil more than that in torque. I need to do a baseline run myself just because I've already done intake and exhaust mods... want to see what they did over a stock setup as well before I finish the turbo and dyno it.

    3253FE0E-A212-44EF-9448-40C3EA31C6EC-282-000000231EBADAB4_tmp.jpg

Once I know the limitations on the hydrogen turbo kit, I can make improvements (i.e. Larger turbo and better turbo manifold), but for now, I'll use it with just 93 octane, 2 step colder NGK plugs and 1ZZFE injectors. It's such a small turbo and low boost, I should be fine. (Famous last words) haha!

I've been asked the above multiple times..

My response is always, I know it's not a race car. I'm just looking for a lil but more umph! If I can gain 30-50 more whp and still have decent mpg, I'd be happy.

    Well...

    IMG_1015.JPG

...project on hold. 2 car family and the wife's 2012 Altima's CVT just went out. Currently in negotiations with Nissan North America as she's 3000 miles shy of her 5 yr warranty. Also told by the stealership that her VIN doesn't qualify for the 10yr/100,000 mile warranty that Nissan extended on their other CVT drivetrains. Was told that it's $3500 and I said nope! In the meantime we are sharing one car and i can't be "trying" to turbo the Prius when it's our only mode of transportation. Oh the problems of modding your daily driver...

Should be good in a week or two while we are in negotiations and repairs then back to the project... woot!!
