    Chris,
I don't do work in Houston. Home Town Hybrids is the company to call in your area. If your shopping for a new battery I might be able to help you out though.

if your car is in good shape, and you plan on keeping it, new is the way to go.

Car seems to be in good shape. Had a diagnostic test done on it today by the Toyota dealership and the batteries is all that is wrong with it.

once you get the price difference on new vs refurb, keep in mind how long new tents to last, and refurbs are all hit or miss.
some people pay extra for new, and when the rest of the car needs too much work, they look for another that needs a battery and swap them.

$2200 is what we sell the new packs locally for right now. That's an out the door price with install, tax, and a 4 year warranty. I don't know how many miles your Prius has or what your long term plans are for the car but this is what I tell my customers.

Quality rebuilt batteries last 3 years and generally cost around $1000.

New batteries last 9 years and cost around $2500.

Texas Hybrid Batteries - Rebuilt or New, Which to choose.

If you like the car and want to keep it forever you can come out cheaper by putting in a new pack to start with. And you get a lot of piece of mind.
