Air blowing from oil cap

    a new battery, not fully charged before installation, can easily be in the mid 12's after a couple days.
    i think this car has more going on than we have been able to discern.

    You probably are right.
    BUT you need to understand that when it is in READY mode, you are reading the charging system voltage and NOT the battery voltage.

    Just after 5 minutes of leaving home , rain and 3 Celsius outside ....And while the hybrid check is showing the traction control light came on to about 3 time when slightly breaking to slow down something I never seen coming on never for the past 5 years,now the next error that usually pops up is the water pump .
    It seems to me that is a electrical short problem somewhere and maybe effected by the cold temperatures as they always come together most of time ,

    And like I said as soon I cleared the hybrid error the water pump error came up once started the car....
    Too much of coincidence??? All the time ?? 1484471063363.png

    Yes I think it probably is not just a coincidence.

    But I doubt that it is a "short" in the 12 V system; more like an intermittent open, caused by a loose connector or corrosion
