The fronts were two pounds lower than the rears because..., well, you know the rest.

There's something inherently backwards: when every hour of professional care needs to be followed by two hours of your time, checking and remedying. I came to a epoch with a previous car, as I lay underneath, holding the oil pan drain bolt loosened and ajar, to patiently trickle out 0.8 liter overfill. I resolved then it was simpler/cheaper to only darken their doorstep for warranty and recall work.

    Agree totally.

I try not to, I'd rather screw it up myself.

What's weird is the non PIPS have a spare tire. What kind of thinking is that? I would assume that there are buyers interested in the PIP, but tun d off because of no spare tire. Please do no tell me they did it to keep the weight down. 2-3 adults, 2 children + baggage weigh much more than one donut tire.

The Two, Three and Three Touring do, the Two Eco, Four and Four Touring do not.

No, because the battery is where the spare goes.

Then put the spare where the battery goes.

And where would you put the battery?

Is it more important for a plug-in hybrid to have a battery to charge when plugged in, or to have a spare tire that will likely never get used?

It is a overall design, the Designers don't suddenly realize they forgotten to make room for a spare tire, oh my God, we'll throw in a can of goop, that should make the customer happy. Iincidently Lee Jay you don't seem to own any sort of PIP, so of what credence should we give to a Prius chatter that does not even own the product WE are talking about.

I pre-ordered both my 2004 and a 2017 Prime. I've test driven a Prime on two occasions and read everything I can find and watched every video about them. When I test drove, I also took pictures and measurements of just about everything on the car.

They could hang the spare underneath, maybe need to mod the gas tank.

What they really should have done is find a way to package the battery so that it fit under the rear seat, or just a tad behind it like in the G2. However, they put the charger there, the solar roof puts a buffer battery for the solar system there, and the jack is there. I'm not fond of any of those excuses. I said right at release of technical details that the Prime's battery is way too big and way too heavy for its capability. It's not likely the cells, it's more likely the packaging.
